The Bills and Chiefs face off once again in the playoffs
The Kansas City Chiefs hosted the AFC Championship a record five consecutive times from 2019 to 2022. After a brief hiatus last year, the championship game is back in Kansas City.
As was the case in 2021, the Chiefs are hosting the Buffalo Bills. These two teams are significantly different. In that game, Stefon Diggs and Tyreek Hill combined for 22 targets. The, as they did in 2021
Josh Allen’s favorite target is Khalil Shakir, as he had 24 more targets than any other Bills wideout. Shakir spends the majority of his time in the slot. It’ll be interesting to see how often Trent McDuffie shadows Shakir. If that’s the case, the Bills will likely face more resistance than they have since the last time these two teams faced off.
Travis Kelce led the way for Patrick Mahomes, but rookie Xavier Worthy was second with 93. The addition of Hollywood Brown has made this offense more potent than any offense since the Hill days.
That has me thinking the Chiefs and Mahomes, who haven’t turned it over since the last time they faced Buffalo in the regular season, take care of business on offense, and Steve Spagnuolo comes up with just enough pressure to throw the Bills off and the Chiefs pull out a win, somehow, some way.
