Can Bo Nix buck the trend of rookie quarterbacks struggling in their first start?
Historically, or at least during the past 22 years or so, rookie quarterbacks have been on the wrong side of their first playoff starts when going up against a quarterback with experience. In this case, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix isn’t going up against your run-of-the-mill quarterback.
Buffalo Bills signal-caller Josh Allen put on a show in 2024. He threw for 28 touchdowns, ran for another 12, and helped make the Bills look unstoppable during the second half of the season. Since Week 10, Buffalo scored 30 or more points in all but one game.
Buffalo’s issue is its defense. It doesn’t play any. The Bills are a popular Super Bowl pick, but they’ll be fortunate to win two games during these playoffs, let alone four.
Denver should put up a fight. Their offense is better than most give it credit for, as is Nix’s. I like the Broncos and Sean Payton to keep this within a one-possession game.
