It’s never a bad game for gambling
Week 14 will conclude with a game that may have looked good on paper at the start of this season but doesn’t seem entertaining at this point in the year. The Cincinnati Bengals will be traveling to face the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have a large fanbase, so the ratings will probably be there, but you can’t help but look at what is here: a 4-8 team (Bengals) against a 5-7 team playing their backup quarterback.
The Bengals haven’t had much luck this year. Their wins have come against the dregs of the NFL, like the Las Vegas Raiders and the New York Giants. Their only win in their division is the Cleveland Browns, and they haven’t beaten a team with a winning record. , let alone a team with a winning record. They are facing elimination with another loss depending on how things stack up, though it seems to be over for them this season.
The Cowboys are a mess. Given where the season is, it’s safe to assume the Cowboys won’t make much noise in the postseason. The only people you can guess not realizing this are the Cowboys because one would think they’d start Trey Lance at this point. Instead, they sit behind Cooper Rush. If you recall, they lost starting quarterback Dak Prescott to injury and put Rush in. They managed to beat their division rivals in the Washington Commanders and New York Giants, but they are a 5-7 team.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Bengals favored by 5.5 points. I’ll take the Cowboys and the points in this. I think the Bengals will win, but they have their issues, so I’ll take the 5.5 points and hope Dallas keeps it close. The Over-Under is set at 49.5. The under looks enticing here. There won’t be much entertainment from the offenses, so keeping it under that threshold shouldn’t be too tall of an order.
