The 49ers offense came out hot in the first three weeks of the 2023 season. They had some ups and downs, but still found a way to hang 30 points on the board in each contest.
If they hit the 30-point mark again Sunday vs. the Cardinals it would mark their fourth-consecutive 30-point game to open the season. No 49ers team has ever done that according to 49ers communications.
In a quirkier version of this stat, the 49ers became the first team to ever score exactly 30 in three consecutive games. They could extend that record and set their franchise record by hitting that mark again in Week 4.
A 30-point game would also be the seventh-consecutive regular season game where the 49ers hit that mark. The last time they were held under 30 in a regular season game was Week 15 of last season when they traveled to Seattle on a short week and score 21 in a win.
The good news for San Francisco’s offense is that they typically don’t hit their stride until November or December under head coach Kyle Shanahan. If they can put four consecutive 30-point games in their pocket through the first four weeks, it would work as a really nice foundation for a playoff run later in the year.
