The second wideout the 49ers have signed in as many days
Per his agent, the San Francisco 49ers signed veteran wide receiver Chosen Anderson—formerly known as Robbie/Robby Anderson—as they’re dealing with injuries at the position.
Ricky Pearsall remains sidelined with a shoulder injury, while Dallas Turner still has a hamstring injury. Brandon Aiyuk has yet to report to training camp, so the numbers at the position aren’t where they need to be.
Rookie Jacob Cowing is still working his way back from an injury. Plus, Danny Gray has worn a blue non-contact jersey all week despite participating in 11-on-11s.
Jauan Jennings, Deebo Samuel, Ronnie Bell, Chris Conley, Tay Martin, and Trent Taylor have been the wideouts. Frank Darby has been an afterthought, and the 49ers just signed Jontre Kirklin. So, there’s room for Chosen if he can make plays.
Rohan just wrote about separation being an issue during Day 12 of training camp. Perhaps the 49ers are seeing the same thing and have similar concerns.
