Tarron Jackson was a sixth-round draft pick from the 2021 NFL Draft.
The San Francisco 49ers have made a few transactions during these past couple of days. Linebacker Dre Greenlaw was officially placed on the Injured Reserve List.
The Niners’ corresponding move was to add offensive lineman Zack Johnso to the practice squad. Johnson was drafted by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2020.
On Thursday, the 49ers added defensive lineman Tarron Jackson to their practice squad. Jackson was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He’s played 24 games with the Eagles and the Carolina Panthers, including three with Carolina this season. Jackson re-joined the Eagles on November 7 after signing with their practice squad but was released on New Year’s Eve.
Defensive ends Robert Beal (ankle), Nick Bosa (knee), and Robert Beal (ankle) did not participate during Wednesday’s practice. There’s no real reason for either of those players to play, so it’s understandable why the 49ers need to bring in edge rushers for Week 18.
The other edge rushers on the roster include Yetur Gross-Matos, Sam Okuayinonu, Jonathan Garvin, and Alex Barrett.
