Dre Greenlaw’s practice window will open, and he’ll be on the field Wednesday for the 49ers
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan held a conference call Monday morning, providing injury updates and final thoughts about the Niners’ 38-10.
LG Aaron Banks (concussion)
DT Jordan Elliott (concussion)
CB Renardo Green (neck)
LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (knee)
WR Jacob Cowing (concussion)
DT Kevin Givens (groin)
Right guard Dominick Puni underwent an MRI for his shoulder. He’s still being evaluated. The team is still awaiting Puni’s MRI. The same is true for cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, who briefly left with the game. Shanahan said he knocked his knees some another player.
As for Brock Purdy, here’s what Shanahan said: “He did some light throwing today. It went all good. We didn’t push him real hard. He did some light throwing. That’s a good sign that the pain didn’t come back. We’ll test it tomorrow and see how this week goes.”
Shanahan confirmed that Purdy had a second MRI on his shoulder. He said Brock got a second one to ensure the first one didn’t miss anything.
The 49ers wanted Purdy to rest his arm last Thursday, believing the rest helped. Brock won’t throw on Tuesday and will throw on Wednesday. If Purdy’s shoulder doesn’t progress, Brandon Allen will start.
Left tackle Trent Williams and defensive end Nick Bosa are in the same boat as they were a week ago. Both players will continue to be monitored and are day-to-day. Shanahan is hopeful this week will go better for them than it did last week.
Offensive lineman Jon Feliciano will remain on the Injured Reserve as his knee did not respond the right way. Feliciano’s season is over.
The 49ers will open the practice window for LB Dre Greenlaw this week. He’ll practice on Wednesday. Greenlaw will have 21 days to be activated to the roster, or he’ll remain on the PUP all season.
Charvarius Ward will continue to practice in full this week. Shanahan said he won’t push Mooney, who practiced on the scout team last week.
