The San Francisco 49ers are dangling their top two wide receivers in trades to try and move up in the 2024 NFL Draft.
According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the 49ers are considering trading one of Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel in order to move up in the first round.
Aiyuk and Samuel were highly productive this past season and were major reasons why the 49ers got to Super Bowl LVIII before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Aiyuk played in 16 games this past season and had the best year of his career, finishing with 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s only 26 and is looking for a big payday in his next contract.
Samuel is a bit older (28) but still had a highly productive 2023 campaign, finishing with 60 receptions for 892 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s been in the NFL for five seasons and has recorded over 800 yards in three of the five seasons.
This is shaping up to be one of the most chaotic first rounds in recent memory, especially if a lot of trades happen.
The first round will get underway at 8 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN and NFL Network.
