Can the 49ers pull off a key upset on Sunday?
The San Francisco 49ers had their ugliest loss of the year on Sunday, dropping a 38-10 game to the Green Bay Packers to fall to 5-6 on the season.
After a close 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11 where the 49ers were in control for much of the game, San Francisco got out to a quick 17-0 deficit and never was within one score after the first two drives.
Now, looking ahead to Week 13, the 49ers will stay on the road for a matchup with the Buffalo Bills, who are coming off a bye week after a 30-21 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills, standing at 9-2, have won six in a row, scoring 30 points in five straight games.
So, heading on the road, how are the 49ers seen, odds-wise, against the Bills in Week 13?
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the 49ers are 6.5-point underdogs against the Bills heading into next weekend’s matchup, with the over/under set at 45.5 points.
Last weekend was the first time that San Francisco was seen as an underdog, and that opened at 1.5 points before their bevy of injuries prompted a swing. This time around, the 49ers are big underdogs, and it comes in a must-win game, as San Francisco’s playoff hopes are quickly fading.
The Bills have been one of the hottest teams in football this year, getting MVP-level quarterback play from Josh Allen. They rank third in the NFL in points per game while allowing just 19.5 per game this season, en route to the second-best record in the league.
The 49ers are seen as +600 underdogs to win the NFC West after losing to the Packers this weekend. While they’re still just one game back from the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals, they’ll need to start picking up wins sooner rather than later, starting with this weekend against the Bills.
