The start of the 2021 college football season is just a week away, and Ryan Leaf has revealed his top 25 that should spark an interesting debate this Friday afternoon.
Most analysts have Alabama ranked No. 1 heading into this season, but Leaf believes Clemson is the top team in the country. He actually doesn’t even have Alabama ranked second, as that honor belongs to Oklahoma.
Ranking the Crimson Tide third wasn’t the only questionable decision Leaf made. The former No. 2 pick has Cincinnati ranked 20th in the country. That’s extremely low for a program that’s bringing back a handful of stars for this season, including quarterback Desmond Ridder.
Another thing that stood out from Leaf’s top 25 is that he ranked Ole Miss very high. Lane Kiffin’s squad has a lot of potential, but there aren’t many analysts out there willing to buy in just yet.
Here’s the full top 25 from Leaf:

The bottom half of Leaf’s top 25 isn’t nearly as controversial. However, it’s worth noting that he’s not as confident in LSU and Indiana as everyone else.
Several fans pointed out that Washington was left off the list entirely, but Leaf has stated in the past that he’s not believing all the hype about the Huskies.
Do you agree with Ryan Leaf’s top 25?
