Future Bearings: Andre Kelly declares for 2022 NBA Draft, enters transfer portal

As of Thursday, senior forward Andre Kelly has officially declared for the 2022 NBA draft. After donning the blue and gold jersey for four years and averaging 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds in 30.3 minutes per game this past season, Kelly will be leaving an indisputable mark on Cal men’s basketball. Despite suffering a season-ending injury in late January, Kelly’s performance in the latest season earned him an All-Pac-12 Team honorable mention by coaches around the conference.
“I am happy to have created memories and friendships that will last a lifetime,” Kelly said via Instagram on his time at Cal. “I am blessed to have had so many amazing coaches who have not only pushed me to become the best player, but the best person I can be as well.”
Although the NBA is the ultimate goal, Kelly also plans on entering the transfer portal. Additionally, he wants to keep the doors open to a potential Cal homecoming in the future. Nevertheless, one thing remains certain: Kelly will continue to do what he does best on the court regardless of where the winds take him.
