Former Cal defensive lineman Ralph DeLoach passed away last Thursday. He was 65 years old.
DeLoach’s family announced this unfortunate news on his Facebook page.
“As we all know Ralph was very passionate about his views on social justice and his pursuit of happiness,” his siblings wrote, via Cal Sports Report. “He will be truly loved, forever missed, but never forgotten.”
DeLoach was an All-Pac-8 performer during his time at Cal. As a senior, he was tied for the team lead with 12 tackles for loss and six sacks.
The Dallas Cowboys then selected DeLoach in the fourth round of the 1979 NFL Draft.
DeLoach’s career with the Cowboys didn’t last long, but he was still able to sign deals with the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers.
