Marsalis Roberson, the 6-foot-5, 187-pound shooting guard from Bishop O’Dowd (CA) High School, committed to Cal on Thursday.
Roberson had a final four of Cal, UCSB, Cincinnati, and Stanford.
“I picked Cal because of the relationship I have with the coaching staff, and I wanted to stay home and play in front of my family,” he said ahead of his public announcement.

“Coach [Mark] Fox was recruiting me for my offense,” added Marsalis, who averaged over 16 points, over 6 rebounds, and over 3 assists per game.
Per 247Sports.com, he is ranked No. 98 nationally and the 22nd-best shooting guard in his class.
He is the first commit for the Golden Bears in the class of 2021.
Roberson also said he’s recruiting DaRon Holmes to join him.
“I am currently recruiting DaRon Holmes,” he said. Holmes cut hist list down to four recently and Cal is in it.
