This weekend is a big one for Stanford quarterback Tanner McKee. He’s going to be an NFL Draft pick.
McKee is projected to be picked on Day 3 of the draft with the possibility of moving up to Day 2 on Friday night. Whenever he hears his name, he’ll be supported by his wife, Lauren.
Lauren and Tanner tied the knot last summer. On June 11, they will celebrate their one-year anniversary.
“June 11th I married the love of my life!” Tanner McKee posted on Instagram last August 1. “Lauren is beautiful, determined, and my #1 overall pick! Can’t wait to spend forever with you ❤️ I love you Lauren!”
Lauren McKee also shared video footage of their wedding, as well as pictures from their honeymoon in Hawaii, on her own Instagram page.
“The best week in paradise with my husband,” she captioned the honeymoon flicks.
Lauren has also been a fixture at Stanford games, including this past season when the Cardinal shocked Notre Dame on the road.
“So proud,” she captioned her postgame picture with her husband inside an empty Notre Dame Stadium.
A four-star prospect and top-50 recruit in the 2018 class, Tanner McKee bypassed his first two seasons of college football to fulfill a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil.
During the 2022 season, he told the Deseret News that he was actually able to purchase a wedding ring using his Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) money.
“Actually in the NIL process, I got my wife a ring, actually,” he said. “That was my most interesting, unique story — getting my wife’s wedding ring with NIL influence, which was great.”
Best of luck to Tanner as he celebrates a lifelong dream coming true this weekend.
