Amid massive realignment across the United States, Florida State University has been identified by many as a program that might want to leave the Atlantic Coast Conference and join one of the expanding conferences.
But according to one college football insider, the Seminoles appear fine right where they are – for now.
CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd reported that there is “no indication” that FSU will file its notice to leave the ACC by 2024 before Tuesday’s deadline. As a result, the Seminoles are locked in to the ACC for the foreseeable future.
Dodd also noted that there’s “no indication” that Pac-12 holdouts Stanford and Cal will receive the necessary votes to join the conference by that same deadline.
Sources: No indication FSU will file notice by Tuesday deadline it will leave the ACC by 2024. Also, no indication any votes have changed re Stanford/Cal.

Florida State’s football program and longstanding rivalry with Florida would make them a prime candidate to join the SEC.
As it stands, the SEC are adding Oklahoma and Texas in 2024 but have paused expansion beyond that.
The Big Ten and Big 12, on the other hand, are having no such problem.
Both conferences will be expanding to 16 teams starting in 2024, even with the the Sooners and Longhorns leaving the Big 12 for the SEC.
It seems like someone’s going to need to change the name of their conference soon.
