It’s been a good while since we saw former Pro Bowl quarterback Andrew Luck on a football field. But with Thursday Night Football in his neck of the woods, Luck decided to show up in full uniform – though not the kind of uniform you’re thinking of.
Luck was a guest on Thursday Night Football’s pregame broadcast and he decided to show up dressed as “Captain Andrew Luck” of the iconic parody account with full Civil War attire.
The “Captain Andrew Luck” spawned dozens of similar accounts for how it made Luck look like a Civil War soldier and sent messages to his “Dearest mother” in a style similar to 19th century letters.
Luck played into the role even further by declaring “The war is over” when asked how he’s been doing lately.
Before Andrew Luck shockingly retired from the NFL, someone launched a parody account for him — @CaptAndrewLuck.
Last night, he made a surprise appearance at TNF postgame in full uniform.
“The war is over.”

Andrew Luck retired before the 2019 NFL season and despite still being 34 years old has no interest in returning to the field.
Luck has since gone back to school to achieve his advanced degree while starting a coaching career with an assistant role at a Stanford-area high school.
As nice as it was to see Luck on an NFL field again, it’s not something we’re likely to see on Sundays very often.
