We’re just two months away from the start of the 2023 college football season and the sports analysts are starting to ramp up their preseason predictions. For two programs though, the outlook really isn’t looking good right now.
According to Action Network college football insider Brett McMurphy, two teams have been projected as underdogs in all 12 of their games this season. The two teams are the Stanford Cardinals and the Western Michigan Broncos.
Stanford are heading into their first year with Troy Taylor as their new head coach. They open the season on the road against Hawai’i and USC before their home opener against FCS powerhouse Sacramento State. They then have seven straight Pac-12 games before their season finale against Notre Dame.
Western Michigan are also heading into their first year with a first-time head coach – Lance Taylor. After their home opener against reigning Northeast Conference champion Saint Francis, they play seven of their remaining 11 games on the road with three against Power Five schools Syracuse, Iowa and Mississippi State.

Obviously the FCS games should be the ones where both Stanford and Western Michigan have the best chance to win. But with the exception of those, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of optimism for the Cardinals or Broncos going up against the rest of their FBS rivals.
What will the records of those two schools be at the end of the season?
