Despite rumors, it has nothing to do with his loyalty to the Bay
After winning gold at the Paris Olympics this summer, Steph Curry made some changes to his Instagram bio.

The 36-year-old superstar removed ‘guard for the Warriors’ from his bio and replaced it with ‘Olympic gold medalist’ shortly after the closing ceremonies in Paris.
Immediately — because this is the internet — rumors sprung up regarding Curry’s loyalty to the Golden State Warriors, the franchise who drafted him over fifteen years ago. Fortunately for Warriors fans, Steph isn’t going anywhere.
“I’m just proud to be an Olympian,” Steph told Emily Chang, the host of Bloomberg’s ‘The Circuit,’ this week during a round of golf.

To the dismay of Warriors haters around the globe, Steph will not be leaving the Bay anytime soon. And despite what we might think, people can be many things outside of what they list in their Instagram bios, which can only contain up to 150 characters, after all. Steph Curry, in addition to being a believer, a husband, a father, a philanthropist, and an Olympic gold medalist, is still the Warriors’ superstar point guard.
If you did happen to panic over an Instagram bio, don’t worry — Steph recently signed a one-year, $62.6 million extension, keeping him in the Bay through the 2026-27 NBA season. He’s not going anywhere.
