The complete injury report for Wednesday night’s ESPN game between Golden State and Minnesota.
For the first time all season, the Golden State Warriors are under .500 after blowing a late lead against the Toronto Raptors on Monday night. They’ll try to get that win back tonight and split a four-game road trip as they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves, a team in a similar position as the Warriors: loaded with talent and failing to live up to expectations.
The Dubs are, thankfully, getting somme reinforcements, though they’re not half as healthy as the Wolves are. Here’s the complete injury report.
Warriors
Out — Jonathan Kuminga (right ankle sprain)
Still at least a week-and-a-half before we see Kuminga back on the court. Let’s hope it’s around then, and not a longer absence, because my goodness does this team miss him.
Out — Brandin Podziemski (right abdominal injury management)
Podz is slowly getting closer to a return, but this is now nine consecutive absences for the second-year guard. Hopefully it will help him reset, as he was in a bit of a sophomore slump.
Questionable — Draymond Green (left L5-S1 disc and general illness)
Green was questionable on Monday and ended up not playing, as the combination of being sick and having tweaked back got him. Very relatable, Dray. Advice to younger people: don’t get old!
Questionable — Kyle Anderson (left hamstring soreness)
Anderson played a big role on Monday with Green out, and he played really well. The Warriors can withstand his absence if Green returns, but if both players are out then that’s a big hit.
Probable — Gary Payton II (left calf strain)
He’s (probably) baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! After a 10-game absence, Payton returns to the court, and the Warriors couldn’t be happier about that. The offense has missed his cuts and athleticism at the rim and, more importantly, the defense will be stoked to get GPII back just as they face Anthony Edwards.
Probable — Trayce Jackson-Davis (right thumb sprain)
TJD injured his thumb in Monday’s loss, but thankfully it doesn’t seem too serious. He should play, barring a setback.
Timberwolves
Out — Terrence Shannon Jr. (right mid-foot sprain)
Shannon, the No. 27 pick in June’s draft, hasn’t found the court much in his debut season, half because he’s a rookie and half because he’s been injured. He’s only appeared in 45 minutes over 10 games, and hasn’t played since before Christmas. He’s expected to be out until February.
Enjoy the action, Dub Nation! The game tips off at 6:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.
