The full injury report for Sunday’s game on ABC.
For the second game in a row, the Golden State Warriors are facing the team directly ahead of them in the Western Conference standings. Unlike in their dominant win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday, the Warriors won’t be able to leapfrog the Dallas Mavericks with a win today. But they can pull within half a game, and take another step towards their quest of escaping the play-in tournament.
Just as when these teams met before the All-Star break, the Mavericks are missing nearly all of their frontcourt depth. Expect a small, fast-paced game.
Here’s the full injury report.
Warriors
Out — Jonathan Kuminga (right ankle sprain)
The hope is that Kuminga can return to action sometime this upcoming week. He’ll miss his 23rd straight game but, on the bright side, he’s the only player listed on the injury report for the Dubs.
Mavericks
Out — Anthony Davis (left adductor strain)
You’ve got to feel for AD. It’s not his fault that Dallas made a colossally stupid trade, but he’ll always be remembered as the player on the other end of it. And to top it all off, the oft-injured Davis went down in his Mavericks debut, and has yet to return.
Out — Daniel Gafford (right knee sprain)
Gafford has been excellent for Dallas this year, but hasn’t played in about two weeks. He’ll unfortunately be out until late March.
Out — Dereck Lively II (right ankle stress fracture)
A third center who is out for the Mavericks. Going small and hoping Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson catch fire is kind of their only game plan … although admittedly it worked the last time these teams faced each other.
Out — Caleb Martin (right hip strain)
Martin came to the Mavericks at the trade deadline but has yet to suit up for Dallas. He’s hasn’t played since January 10.
Doubtful — Dwight Powell (right hip strain)
In addition to the three centers who are out, here’s another potentially sidelined big man. Powell is day-to-day, but hasn’t played in over a month.
Questionable — P.J. Washington (right ankle sprain)
And one last big man for good measure. Washington is day-to-day, but he did play in Dallas’ game on Friday.
Enjoy the action, Dub Nation! It all goes down at 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC, ESPN+, and NBC Sports Bay Area.
