The 39th president died on Sunday at age 100
Last night, ahead of the national anthem, the Warriors lit up Chase Center with a tribute to fallen US President Jimmy Carter, who died on Sunday at age 100.
Tonight at Chase Center, we observed a moment of silence for the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, who passed away on Sunday. President Carter’s dedication to public service spanned his entire life. pic.twitter.com/F34wvB24wl

Carter, who hailed from Plains, Georgia, was not, to anyone’s knowledge, a Warriors fan. Per Essentially Sports, “During his 1978 presidential tenure, Carter hosted the then-Champions Washington Bullets at the White House. During that time, he showcased his dribbling skills in front of professional ballers.” However, there is no video footage of this. We wish there was.
Carter is remembered as a subpar president, one of only 13 to serve only one full term without re-election, but as a wonderful person, building homes for Habitat for Humanity into his 90s and having surprisingly nuanced takes on Israel and Palestine for a former US president.
Carter passed away just one year after losing his wife, Rosalynn, to whom he was married for 77 years.
Fly high, peanut president. We here at Golden State of Mind salute you.
