Jonathan Kuminga has been moved to the bench by Steve Kerr ahead of the Golden State Warriors’ game on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Kuminga had started the first three games of the season.
The Warriors started Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield, Moses Moody, Draymond Greenand Trayce Jackson-Davis against the Pelicans. Golden State was without Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins and De’Anthony Melton for the game.
Kuminga will be a restricted free agent this offseason after he was unable to agree to terms on a contract extension with the Warriors.
“I told him before the game: ‘You’re going to play a lot. This is just about combinations and getting a little more spacing on the start,'” Steve Kerr said of Kuminga. “All it is is just shuffling the lineup to get the right five-man grouping.”
Kuminga finished the game with season highs in both minutes (28) and points (17).
