The recent loss against the Kings on Sunday has raised several concerns for the Warriors, highlighting their failing on-court temperament. Undoubtedly, the first name to come to our minds in these situations is Draymond Green. However, head coach Steve Kerr‘s outbursts have become more prevalent as well.
Heading into Sunday night’s contest, it was reported that Jonathan Kuminga is set to miss a couple of weeks due to a sprained right ankle. It is concerning situation for the Warriors, who have already been struggling to maintain a record over .500. Nonetheless, Stephen Curry was back in the lineup after missing the previous outing.
The Kings were on the go from the tip-off, giving the Warriors no chance to recover. The Dubs looked frustrated, with Kerr and Green raging against the officiating. It started with a sudden screen from the 2016-17 Defensive Player of the Year on Keon Ellis, and the turn of events that followed.
Warriors Failing to Maintain On-Court Temperament Sparks Worry
Warriors’ Failing Composure Raises Alarm
Known as the team that always took joy in the game, Golden State’s recent acts have been troublesome. The latest being against the visiting Kings, which involved Kerr being handed a technical foul. Occurring in the final minutes of the third quarter, the Warriors coach was irate over Ellis flopping.

Things got to a point where Kings coach and former NBA player Doug Christie looked to charge toward Kerr but was restrained via Domantas Sabonis. While Curry’s postgame comments made light of the situation, the Dubs have some glaring worries.
The previous night, Draymond received a flagrant foul for a controversial play against Zach Edey. This season, the Warriors forward has eight techs, which includes an ejection as well. Adding to Dub Nation’s woes is Kerr’s repetitive outbursts against the officials off-late.
STEVE KERR: “I’m pissed off. I wanted to go to Las Vegas. We wanted to win this Cup. We aren’t going because of a loose ball foul, 80 feet from the basket, with the game on the line. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. That was ridiculous. Thank you.”

As of today, the Warriors find themselves in a play-in situation. Certainly, not the ideal scenario, given their 12-3 start to the 2024-25 campaign. The team that changed the league’s landscape with its three-point shooting is currently 36.9% from beyond the arc.
Steph Curry’s Future in the Bay Area
Not one to voice his displeasure, Curry has been nothing but vocal about Golden State’s recent struggles. In his 16th season, the two-time MVP continues to play at a high level. Unfortunately, the veteran guard lacks the desired support allowing him to secure his fifth ring.
Known to be a world-class organization, Golden State is in an unsettling phase. Owner Joe Lacob and the front office need to address matters soon if they wish to contend in the West. Inching closer to the trade deadline, the management needs to make some bold moves.
For the longest time, the Warriors were envied for the fun they had on the court. Hence, their recent demeanor is appalling to many. In pursuit of a star player to pair opposite Curry, rumors indicate the franchise making a run for names such as Jimmy Butler, Nikola Vucevic, and Brandon Ingram.
Having built a strong reputation for themselves, Lacob and Co. cannot afford for things to go south before they enter damage control.
