A live look at the reactions.
Well, a nightmare unfolded on Wednesday night. The Golden State Warriors played too sloppily against the lottery-bound San Antonio Spurs, and lost 114-111 when Harrison Barnes made a buzzer-beater at the end of regulation. The Dubs slipped into the play-in seeds with the loss, and a lot of work is required to climb back to the playoff seeds.
Let’s see how the fanbase reacted to the brutal loss with a look at the live reactions from the Golden State of Mind game thread.
First quarter: ‘Great start’
Things began very well for the Warriors, who scored the first 11 points of the game. They looked inspired and energetic, and it seemed like they would likely roll to victory. They led 32-23 at the end of the first quarter.
Second quarter: ‘This is bad’
The Spurs used a 24-3 run to erase the Warriors lead, and build one of their own. Golden State responded, but still trailed 55-51 at halftime.
Third quarter: ‘They’re playing serious’
The Warriors bounced back well, dominating the third quarter, and taking an 88-76 lead into the final frame. They looked to be on cruise control.
Fourth quarter: ‘Why is our defense so inconsistent?’
And then it fell apart again, for good. The Spurs quickly erased the lead, outscoring Golden State 38-23 in the final quarter to pull off the shocking win.
