The Golden State Warriors did what they had to on Tuesday and took care of business, crushing the Phoenix Suns 133-95. For one delightful night, we were treated to stress-free basketball, as the Warriors were in control through and through.

Here’s how Warriors fans reacted to the action in live time, seen through comments on the Golden State of Mind game thread.

First quarter: ‘We fixed Steph’

After a three-point game on Sunday, Steph Curry came out fired up on Tuesday, dropping 13 points in the first frame. He was in total control and so were the Warriors, who led 37-24 after the opening 12 minutes.

Hope the W’s play well enough for Steph’s playing time to be limited to 25 minutes or less. It would be great to ease his burden in the B2B tonight and tomorrow night.

Snakes In The Lane

Suns are cooked. How motivated can they be at this point? They are already booking their Cancun trips. I hope I’m not jinxing this. If W’s come out strong in the 1st quarter, I think Phoenix folds the tent.

If Booker, Beal, and/or Allen get it going, this won’t be anything like a walkover. After Durant, that trio is next-up for Phoenix. Defense has to be Dubs’ focus. Booker’s been sporadically hot in recent games and GSW will know this.

Second quarter: “A Steph and Podz show”

They were even better in the second quarter. The defense cracked down, while Curry kept scoring, and Brandin Podziemski started to make bucket after bucket. It was a blowout at halftime, with the Warriors leading 69-43.

Third quarter: ‘Foot on the gas!’

The Warriors came out strong to start the third quarter, and never let the Suns get close. Meanwhile, news came in that the Milwaukee Bucks had beaten the Minnesota Timberwolves to help the Warriors get a little bit of a cushion in the standings. They led 95-61 at the end of the quarter, and the stars were all headed to the bench.

Fourth quarter: ‘Good for the heart’

The fourth quarter was just garbage time, and we got to see Steve Kerr empty the bench. The subs took it home, securing a 133-95 victory, and keeping the Warriors in the sixth seed in the West.

i worried every time the lead dropped below thirty. Clearly there are trust issues. Guess it was that 3 point from Steph that shook me up. On to the Spurs!
