Not what the Warriors needed.
The Golden State Warriors entered the 2024-25 NBA season in nearly perfect health. But unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have lasted long. During Sunday night’s home game against the LA Clippers, the Dubs suffered an apparent injury to the one player they can’t afford to lose: Steph Curry.
Curry appeared to roll his ankle about halfway through the third quarter of the game, and went to the bench in noticeable pain, before his usual substitution pattern. He was seen on the bench talking with trainer Rick Celebrini, and using a resistance band on his ankle.
It was unclear if Curry would return to the game, but at the eight-minute mark in the fourth quarter, he checked back in following a Warriors timeout. And just a few seconds later, he seemed to re-aggravate the injury, rolling his ankle while setting a screen on the very first possession post-timeout.
Curry immediately walked off the court limping, and favoring his left leg. He went straight to the locker room this time, accompanied by Celebrini.

We’ll keep you posted with any updates that become available. And in the meantime, we’ll all hold our breath.
Update: Curry has officially been ruled out with a left ankle sprain.
Stephen Curry (left ankle sprain) will not return to tonight’s game.

Second update: Steve Kerr has said that Curry’s sprain is ‘mild or moderate,’ and that the star will have an MRI Sunday night. Hopefully we’ll have more information about Curry’s injury and the results of the MRI on Monday morning.
