Once again Steph Curry and Caitlin Clark are getting comparisons and once again the Golden State Warriors star was asked to give his thoughts on the Iowa guard’s recent comparisons to him.
Speaking to Jericka Duncan on CBS Mornings, Curry said that he’s been impressed by what Clark has been able to do on the court and agrees that her long-distance shooting ability does remind him of himself.
“I’ve been watching from afar and understanding just how much of a power she is out there on the court,” Curry said, via CBS Mornings. “The cool part is the way that she plays, and her range, and the level of difficulty on her shots is obviously a very close comparison to the way that I play.”
However, Curry admitted that he feels the comparisons between him and Clark don’t really do her game justice. He believes that her floor game is better and that she’s much closer to getting triple-doubles on a regular basis.
Ultimately, Curry believes that Clark is “must-see TV.”
“But I think it almost robs her of like the rest of her game,” Curry said. “Because she’s such a good flood [general], she has her overall floor game. She’s racking up close to triple-doubles every night. Her shooting ability is her super power but the rest of her game is as polished as that, so this is must-see TV.”
That’s high praise coming from one of the NBA’s biggest superstars.
It seems inevitable that the two will square off in a three-point contest next year like Curry did with Sabrina Ionescu last year.
