The Golden State Warriors engaged with the Toronto Raptors on a trade for OG Anunoby, but sources tell ESPN’s Zach Lowe that the two sides were not very close and talks fizzled out.
Sources say the Warriors likely would have had to build their trade package for Anunoby around Jonathan Kuminga. Kuminga is in his second season and won’t be a restricted free agent until 2025, while Anunoby will be due for a new contract in 2024.
The Raptors kept Anunoby at the deadline despite considerable interest as they sought both future picks and a high-level player.
