That’s great news for them. Shout out to the proud history of Detroit basketball, a heritage that Billup’s teammate Rasheed Wallace referenced when he mentioned their 2004 championship squad would have dominated the 2017 Golden State Warriors.

Hilarious! Now we get to see who would win an exhibition contest between the 2024-2025 Pistons and Warriors, on a beautiful day by the Bay.
Detroit has some interesting young talent, with first round picks Jalen Duren, Ausar Thompson, and Cade Cunningham giving their fan base a ton of hope for the future.

The Warriors have some interesting young talent themselves, with fourth year lottery picks Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody flanking sophomores Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis. The futures of franchise legends Stephen Curry and Draymond Green (both members of that ‘17 team Sheed referenced earlier) will rest in large part on how those younger guys develop this season.
