Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, arguably the best player in the league, is ready to give the Warriors the business tonight. He’s been on a tear, averaging 32.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists. Here’s the latest on his dominance per the Oklahoman:
The NBA fix came from the Northwest, packed into a single game on a lonely NBA Sunday — a football Sunday, really, designated for Super Bowl bids.
Those who tuned in, either oblivious or desperate for basketball’s only action, were still forced to watch Shai Gilgeous-Alexander play cornerback.
Gilgeous-Alexander, the MVP favorite midway through the season, did things in the Thunder’s 118-108 win in Portland on Sunday that’s become standard for him. The All-Star guard finished the night with three steals, placing him at 91 steals on the season — good enough for second-best in the NBA. It was his 12th game with at least 30 points and three steals, the most in the league this season.
Hopefully, the Warriors can figure out something to keep SGA from running wild all over them like Hulkamania. The Dubs are 23-23 and looking for answers; maybe they can find some tonight against OKC.
