Last game of the year baby!
The Golden State Warriors will play their last game of the 2023 calendar year today against the Dallas Mavericks. This will also be the Dubs final home game in Chase Center of 2023, so the Dubs will surely be looking to send their home fans a parting gift to take into New Year’s Eve.
But to do so, they’ll have to overcome the Dallas Mavericks, who have been getting some outstanding play from their star player Luka Doncic.

Doncic is balling at a level that few have ever reached. Per Reuters:
Doncic, who is listed as questionable, is a runaway leader in the Western Conference in December in scoring (37.4) and assists (11.2) while registering four triple-doubles and six other double-doubles.
He has not faced the Warriors this season, but no doubt looks forward to it. He’s scorched them for 34, 41, 41 and 30 points the past four times he’s seen them during the regular season, with the Mavericks having won three of those four games.
After he scored 50 points on Christmas Day in a win over the Phoenix Suns, his Coach Jason Kidd had a glowing response:
“He’s one of the best in the world,” Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said. “As I’ve always said, we can’t take him for granted. When he’s feeling it, you’re just trying to get him the ball as much as possible.”
Will the Warriors be ready to handle him tonight in Chase Center? They did it well when they eliminated his Mavs from the playoffs in 2022 en route to the fourth title of the Stephen Curry era. Let’s see if they are up to the task tonight!
