The Dubs have been the class of the division for most of the last ten years, but Phoenix is looking to rise.
The Golden State Warriors have won two of their last five games, including a current three game losing streak that has them going cold after a hot start that had them in first place in the Western Conference earlier this week.
Now they’re in third place, splitting their last ten games overall to bring their record to 12-6 on the season. To get their next win, they’ll have to knock off the Phoenix Suns who have started off the season 10-8.

This is for my real Warriors fans. Bay Area stand up on this holiday weekend!
Ah, the Phoenix Suns! A franchise that has routinely been so close, yet so far from basketball immortality. Their franchise is giving dehydrated wanderer crawling toward an oasis only to discover it’s a mirage made of Charles Barkley’s sweat.
Since the legendary Hall-of-Famer and Space Jam actor Barkley carried them to the 1993 NBA Finals, they’ve been a team consistently invited to the big dance that keeps getting somehow stuck watching someone else body roll with the Larry O’Brien trophy. Injuries, bad luck, and untimely collapses have plagued the Suns like an endless Mercury retrograde.
They’ve had hella All-Stars; remember when they had the immortal point guard Steve Nash with them two MVPs and luxurious hair that flowed like a shampoo commercial while he was slicing defenders up? And my guy Amar’e Stoudemire was dunking like gravity was a myth.
Since then they’ve had generation point guard Chris Paul and scoring guard savage Devin Booker scorching nets like a microwave on full power. But championships? Absolutely not.
The “Seven Seconds or Less” era was revolutionary, but it also proved you could revolutionize basketball while still not adding any title banners that hang in the arena. Their most recent heartbreak? A 2-0 Finals lead in 2021 against the Bucks, only to fold like a lawn chair at a family barbecue.
Meanwhile their Pacific Division pals Warriors are out here hoarding rings. The Dubsdidn’t just break their championship drought—they obliterated it with style. Led by Stephen Curry they’ve grabbed four champions, enough to make Thanos a little jealous.
Don’t forget Draymond Green, the defensive genius and motivational speaker, or Kevin Durant whose two-season cameo where he casually made the Warriors the NBA equivalent of the Death Star.
All those guys have won a title, and are playing tonight. Tune in!
