Splicing in a little Draymond Green and NBA news along with last night’s transcripts featuring Steve Kerr, Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Trayce Jackson-Davis and Dario Saric on the podium, with locker room quotes from Jonathan Kuminga. Please note: full transcripts are now posted in the Comments of every video interview we post on the YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/@letsgowarriors/videos
The forthcoming behind-the-scenes video — workflow switch: I’ll be trying to post these transcripts first and then doing the BTS vids — will be attached to the next post. Another video on-deck for the channel is Kerr’s pregame covering a variety of topics.
Key takeaway from the postgame was that Moses Moody is probably gonna be back in the rotation, with Chris Paul going down with a fractured left hand. Kerr said as much (see transcript below). My fav quote was when asked about the adjustment, Podziemski said, “I’m a pretty simple guy. If I’m open I’ll shoot it. If I’m not, I pass it.”

DRAYMOND REINSTATEMENT STUFF
• Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been reinstated following his suspension for striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić on Dec. 12, 2023, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations. During the period of his suspension, which began on Dec. 14 and resulted in him missing 12 games, Green completed steps that demonstrated his commitment to conforming his conduct to standards expected of NBA players. He has engaged in meetings with a counselor and has met jointly on multiple occasions with representatives of the NBA, the Warriors, and the National Basketball Players Association, both of which will continue throughout the season. (NBA PR)
• After league’s reinstatement of Golden State’s Draymond Green, it is expected that he will need approximately a week to ramp up for a game return, sources tell ESPN. Green is expected to be with the Warriors on Sunday for the time since his suspension started in mid-December, sources said. (Adrian Wojnarowski)
• All sides have been pleased with Green’s progress through receiving help over his indefinite suspension from Dec. 14-Jan. 5. Regular check-ins among the parties are expected to continue even after Green returns to action soon. (Shams Charania)
• Draymond Green will rejoin the team on Sunday, but won’t play against the Raptors. (Shayna Rubin)
• Jonathan Kuminga is questionable tomorrow night against the Raptors. Toe strain. Draymond Green is now listed as out for “return to play reconditioning” instead of a league suspension. (Anthony Slater)
CP3 HAND FRACTURE STUFF
• Re: the CP3 hand fracture. There is a lot of variability in terms of timeline for return-to-play (RTP) based on which finger is broken (thumb is the worst), which bone (metacarpal is most common), & the fracture type (near the joint vs away). Best case = 4 wks. Worst case = 3 months. Fracture location and pattern is key in determining the RTP timeine for hand fractures. In certain cases, plates / screws can be placed in such a way that allows earlier return to play (i.e. 4 weeks). In very complex injuries, it can extend out to 3 months. (Dr. Nirav Pandya)
OTHER NEWS: GUI AND JUAN
• Gui Santos is on assignment with the G League Santa Cruz Warriors, who are in Cleveland, where it appears to be quite chilly — one degree above freezing, actually:
• According to a league source, the Sacramento Kings are expected to waive Juan Toscano-Anderson tomorrow and drop back to 14 rostered players. Some added context: all NBA contracts become guaranteed on Jan. 10. The Kings might need this roster spot between now and the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline. (James Ham)
• Any non-guaranteed contracts become fully guaranteed for the rest of the season (regular, two-ways) as of Jan 10, but they need to be waived by Jan 7 to clear by then. So the cut-down date annually is Jan 7. (Eric Pincus) [NOTE: I do not know what this means lol.]
OTHER NEWS PREGAME DET-GSW
• The 10:30AM Injury Report — Detroit: Burks Questionable-Right Hamstring Soreness, Cazalon Out G League-2-Way, Morris Out-Right Quadriceps Strain, Rhoden Out G League-2-Way, Stewart Out-Right Great Toe Sprain, Umude Out G League-2-Way. (Tim Roye)
• I asked Wiseman if he hit any of his favorite food spots since he got to town (they arrived late after that OT loss to the Jazz). He said he’s already hit a couple of his favorite food trucks. Really is a happy go lucky kid. “What’s up Mr. Jason!” (Jason Dumas)
• Steve Kerr on last night’s blown lead and loss to Nuggets: “Wasn’t a whole lot of sleep. About as tough a loss as I can remember.” (Mike Wagaman)
• On Kuminga: “Obviously those things are better discussed behind the scenes, anytime something like that goes public it creates a distraction… I played 15 years and all 15 I was frustrated with my playing time.” Kerr says he encourages his entire team to voice any displeasures or complaints to him. Kerr said he’s spoken with Kuminga over the last 20 hours on the decision to not go back to him in last night’s game. (Mike Wagaman, Anthony Slater, Kendra Andrews)

JK POSTGAME LOCKER ROOM QUOTES
Even more Kuminga locker room quotes, this time from Jason Mastrodonato of the SJ Mercury and then, below that, Kendra Andrews of ESPN, followed by Anthony Slater of The Athletic: https://www.mercurynews.com/2024/01/05/warriors-coach-steve-kerr-reacts-to-report-of-jonathan-kumingas-frustration-it-creates-a-distraction/
“There’s no beef,” he said. “We move on with better understanding, hoping we all can work with each other and help this team, and leave everything in the past.”
—
[NOTE: Similar partial quote as reported by Slater, below. Redacted here.]
—
[NOTE: Another quote that is more comprehensive in Slater’s article.]
—
“There’s always ups and downs,” he said. “I feel like when you look all the ups and downs, that’s when it starts confusing a lot of people. I know Steve believes in me. I know he trusts me.”
Additional Kuminga quotes from Andrews: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/39250043/warriors-steve-kerr-says-needs-play-jonathan-kuminga-more
“I think it went really well,” Kuminga said. “I think it was just all about better understanding of each other. More communication. … Just us having that conversation today made me more comfortable that any time I have something to ask, I should just go up to his office. His door is open. Go up there and chill and wait for him to come back whenever. I think that’s what it’s all about — communication every single time if something is going wrong. Communication is the key.” [NOTE: This quote was also in Slater’s article so it’s likely they had a mini-scrum in the locker room.]
—
“I love it here,” Kuminga said. “I got drafted here. There’s always ups and downs. I feel like when you look at all the ups and downs, that will confuse a lot of people. But I know Steve believes in me. I know he trusts me at this point. It was just more about communication and better understanding. It wasn’t no beef. None of that. Scratch whatever happens. It’s the past. Move on with better understanding and hoping we all can work with each other and help this team and leave everything in the past.” [NOTE: This was also reported by Slater.]
And here’s Slater’s: https://theathletic.com/5182703/2024/01/06/jonathan-kuminga-steve-kerr-meet/
“I never complained about playing time (during the meeting),” Kuminga said. “We were just talking about if I do great at something, just go back and remind him, ‘Yo, coach, what do I need to do to get better at this? What do I need to do to gain more trust or more minutes?’ Like I said, it’s more about communication and better understanding from both of us.”
—
What does that better understanding entail?
“All together a better understanding of certain things on the floor I need to do to get the team better,” Kuminga said. “Who is he going with tonight or the next night? Who he trusts the most? As a coach, you talk about who you trust the most or who is producing things as a coach you want at the moment. So it was all about those little things. As we sat together and spoke about it, it went well.”
—
“I’m gonna keep it real,” Kuminga said. “I went to Coach and talked about me playing with Wiggs. I don’t want it to seem like me and Wiggs are out here fighting every day for minutes. I know Wiggs comes to work every day not thinking about that. Same with me. I don’t come to work every day thinking about taking Wiggs’ minutes, taking this guy’s minutes.
“We come here to play good and help the team win and accomplish things that we all as a team are about. Championship and all that. Whenever the team wins, everybody wins. Just moving forward, it’s all about what the team needs first and concerned about the rest after.”
POSTGAME PODIUM DET-GSW
Chris Paul, we just heard, has a fractured left hand. How big of a blow is that for you guys?
DARIO SARIC POSTGAME DET-GSW: “I mean, it’s tough. Chris is like really big part of the team. Obviously his career is telling how good he is. It’s going to be tough. We just find out we will need to kind of figure out, maybe play a little bit different or I don’t know; when this moment is just like a lot, so I hope he’s going to get better. It’s just stuff we’re gonna need to figure out somehow. It’s not like easy schedule coming for us, probably gonna have like other games away. But, we need to figure out which coaches, we’re gonna find out what’s the best for us, how to play. So, it’s a huge loss, but we need to look positively and try to figure out without him.”
How much does it make your job more difficult when you and Chris obviously work so well together and he’s helped you … that bond has clearly been working.
“Yeah, of course. He’s like, really kind of embraced me, my game and tried to find me in every situation when I’m open and forced me to play down there and I’m very thankful. And it’s going to be a really big loss for my game, probably. But like, yeah, what we can do, we can just figure out. I hope he’s gonna get better sooner than later. Be part of the team, and it’s gonna be tough, not just for me, for all guys, for the team, for the chemistry, but, like, that’s the NBA. You need to kind of, like, try to figure out without important guys how to play. So, other guys gonna step up. Other guys gonna have, like, bigger roles. We try to figure out from there. It’s going to be tough, but that’s basketball.”
——–
Steph, we just found out that Chris Paul fractured his left hand. How much of a blow is that to you guys after what you’ve been going through?
“I just feel bad for him. I know he’s been through some hand stuff in his career and we’re trying to find a groove as a team … our chemistry and continue to build on that and work through some of the kinks in the lineups, and he’s such a huge part of that and has been all season. So I don’t know how long he’ll be out, but I just feel for him personally because he does such an amazing job of taking care of his body, preparing himself, day in and day out. Nobody sees the amount of hours he puts in, especially this stage in his career, to be available. And a freak play like that to sideline him is tough. So, we’ll worry about the stuff with the team as it comes. But for him personally, I just hope he keeps his spirits up and can get through this as quick as possible.”
Steph, besides the injuries, how much of it is going to help you guys with the younger guys who wanted more playing time, that they’re now in a situation where they’re going to be put to the test?
“Everybody gets wrapped up in it, especially with us. And there’s a lot of narratives around our team and who’s supposed to play and our depth, the amount of guys that you can argue should be in the rotation. It’s just hard. Coach has a difficult job on that front. So, but if you look at any team in the NBA, injuries when they pop up, you have to have that next play, next man up mentality. So, that’s the challenge for us now, more combinations that we probably haven’t seen and we have to be able to. I think we’re going to have to take it in stride and execute and do what we need to do to try to stay competitive and win games. But everybody’s going to have an opportunity, so we’ve gotta stay ready.”
Steve said that one of the reasons he put Chris in the starting lineup these past couple games was to help try and get you off the ball a little bit more. Did you feel that that helped? And I guess just how did it feel playing alongside Chris? And what are you going to miss about playing, having him on the court there?
“Yeah, I mean, he’s such a cerebral player. He knows how to manage the game, getting us organized and we had like a stretch where we had tough starts, and this is all because Draymond has been out and you know how different we look as a team trying to run our system. So CP, he’s a great addition to that flow, especially over the last two years or so. I’m able to adjust to whatever is out there. And I know that’s another challenge now, going back to a different starting lineup with CP out. So I gotta be able to make the adjustments, Klay gotta do the same for us to continue to be aggressive, get shots, unlock ourselves and the rest of the five-man unit that’s out there. So It’s nothing new and a different next challenge ahead.”
Steph, you guys have been through so many different things over the years. Does this season feel like it’s more unique in that sense with the amount of injuries and drama and just a bunch of stuff?
“Yeah, if you look at every year since, what, 2019, and the last year we had with all the injuries we had, and the 2021 season, where you’re trying to reestablish your identity, and It was a very unique challenge with different faces and losing the play-in and then you win the championship, starting 18-2 and all that stuff. And then last year trying to back it up and all the things we had to deal with, this year’s more of the same, different challenges, but a lot has gone into 35 games. So we gotta stay fresh mentally, physically, not get exhausted or fatigued with all the things that you’re trying to battle through while also trying to perform on the court. So, we say it all the time. Every season you have different and unique challenges that if a team is trying to reach their full potential, you have to persevere through. This season has been an extreme case of that.”
Conventional wisdom would think if you play like you did against Denver, Detroit would be an easy win, so to speak. Is it disappointing that you guys didn’t put a similar performance out there, or is that just one of those games you knew off the bat would have to be, grind-it-out, fight through it?
“It’s a polar opposite game. It was grind for 44 minutes, and then we had a great four-minute stretch. Last night, it was a great 44 minutes and then a trash four-minute stretch, six-minute stretch, whatever it was. So there are no easy wins in this league. I don’t care if they only have three wins, like they play hard, they’re physical, Cade made some big shots and kept applying pressure down the stretch, but you just want to win. And we’re in that kind of situation as a team. Every win is important, no matter how you get it. So I’m glad we could turn the page quick from last night.”
Steph, you talk about Chris as a cerebral player and sort of getting you organized. In what other ways will you miss him in the sense of sort of the presence he has and the leadership? He’s one of the few players who’s been in the league longer than you have, and he carries a certain cachet when he’s out there. How do you sort of articulate the challenge of replacing that?
“It’s going to be tough because between me, CP, Draymond, Loon, the guys that talk the most and try to provide as much wisdom up and down the bench as possible, he’s definitely – we’re talking at halftime, talking at timeouts, talking on the court. That’s how you try to build chemistry, but also, to your point, him giving us and giving everybody on the team something, some motivational, inspirational or some look that you see during the game that kind of gets you to get you going. So I guess in the short term, hopefully, he can be on the bench and be vocal. But, yeah, other guys gotta step up and whether it makes you uncomfortable and not talk and give you that presence that can hopefully fill his void.
Piggybacking off his question, with two guards down now, how much involvement will you have as a leader for Brandin and the other guys and speaking with them and encouraging them?
“I do it all the time. whether anybody sees it or not, that matters, that’s a consistent effort. No matter what we’re going through, no matter what, who’s available, and whether it’s out there on the court, the locker room on the phone, whatever it is. So, more of the same and just acknowledging what needs to happen with the different rotations and different combinations that we’ll have out there to try to execute and work through some of those challenges.”
A story came out on The Athletic about Kuminga’s frustration.
“Word?” (Joking with Marcus Thompson.)
Yeah, it was on theathletic-dot-com.
“Oh, nice. Yeah. What was it about?”
Jonathan Kuminga’s frustration, written by The Athletic.
You’ve been a third-year player. You’ve been a player who sat some fourth quarters, behind veterans. How much do you understand (on) what he’s talking about and how much do you probably think there’s a different way to handle it, so to speak?
“Everything you just said, I got. Been there before. it’s. He’s not wrong and being upset and pissed off, wanting to play, probably should have played – not probably. But to your point, the ultimate challenge for anybody in this league is to not let the narrative be told for you and you not to be able to address that with your own voice or directly with Coach or whatever the case is. So we all go through our challenges. We all go through our learning lessons and I said he’s not wrong for being upset and frustrated. I heard Coach talk about, he was – no, he’s kind of half joking – but serious about 15 years. He was always upset about playing time and that’s a talking point in every locker room in some way, shape or form. But, yeah, the ways to express it, ways to voice your opinion, but protect the team. And I’m just proud of the way we talked about it before the game, but you go out and play and go hoop, be a professional. And that’s what he did tonight.”
STEVE KERR POSTGAME DET-GSW ON CHRIS PAUL’S FRACTURED HAND: “…I feel so bad for Chris. I know he’s had a couple of hand surgeries before, I believe. Maybe I think it was on the other hand. But, yeah, I saw him holding it and instantly was worried. And so just got the word after walking off the floor. So I feel terrible for Chris and obviously, guys we’ve gotta step up and be ready to play. And we’ve gotta hold down the fort without him.”
Klay had two pretty large defensive plays kind of in the final minute. Just take me through that sequence, just how big it was.
“I thought Klay was really good tonight and especially on a night when he didn’t shoot it well, I just loved his approach, his energy, his defense down the stretch, as you said, Bogdanovic looked like he had an open three and then Klay took away the three and made a big play there.”
Steve, what do you think made this game so hard? Was it a hangover from last night or what do you think made it so difficult for you guys?
“Yeah, I mean, I’m really proud of the guys; it was a tough grind. First of all, Detroit has played well the last couple of weeks. They took Boston to overtime last week, took Utah over time the other day, so they’re playing way better than they were a couple weeks ago and with the back-to-back coming off that brutal loss last night, that was emotionally draining. So this was a tough game and I’m proud of the guys for grinding it out.”
Surprised at all about the turnovers and the number of points you gave him off turnovers?
“Yeah, yeah, the turnovers surprised me. We’ve been taking great care of the ball lately, but the fatigue I think played a role in that.”
With CP, I know it’s early, but usually Cory gets time when one of those guys isn’t available, or could Brandin or someone else play some point? Or have you started to think at all about how you deal with it?
“Yeah, both Brandin and Cory will play more at the point. And so probably brings Moses also back into the rotation because you’re replacing 30 minutes from Chris, so we won’t replace all those minutes with one guy. We’ll probably spread them out. But I’m excited to get Moses back out there. I thought he was great tonight. He brought a lot of energy. Great to hear the fans chanting his name. He’s a fan favorite for a reason. And he. He plays hard and been out of the loop the last few games has been tough on him, but he always stays ready. So I’m excited to get him back in there.”
When you brought Chris back into the starting lineup, you talked about wanting to get Steph off the ball more. And then, obviously, with Draymond also out for however much longer, you lose another playmaker. So I guess it’s kind of following up on that last question of just how difficult is it going to be to make up for losing all of this playmaking.
“Yeah. I mean, it’s going to be tough. Chris is an all-time great and he’s fit right into our team and made life so much easier, not only on Steph, but he’s really kind of captained that second unit, which has been a real strong suit for us this year. So, we’re gonna miss him in both lineups.”
Steve, JK was obviously frustrated with the way last night went, responded tonight. It was a plus-16. Gave you some solid minutes. How did you think he handled what happened last night and rebounded in this game?
“I thought he played well tonight. And yeah, he’s a young guy and he wants to play and I just told him everybody wants to play, and we’ve got a lot of guys who can play, so every night’s gonna be a little different. I think last night Wiggs finished the game. Tonight, JK did, and I thought he did a really good job. He moved the ball well, he guarded both Cunningham and Bogdanovic, and he played a good, solid game. Marcus (Thompson), you look bored back there. You playing video games, or –?”
No, I was looking at the transcription, these excellent quotes you’ve given.
“All right. Fair enough. See you guys.”
——–
Trayce. I’m sure that’s gotta feel good after what happened last night. I mean, how difficult was it for you yesterday after this game, just to sort of get ready for this one?
TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS: “Well, obviously, last night, he had a tough shot at the end, but that’s what’s great about the NBA when you play two to three days max. And so being able to just come back out, rinse that from our bodies and get a win, a much needed win that we needed to get back on track. It’s great. It feels good, but we gotta keep working.”
We just found out that Chris Paul broke his left hand. I’m guessing you just found out as well and just he’s meant so much to both units. How do you guys pick up the slack and so to speak until he’s ready to go and he’s having surgery next week?
“Yeah, I feel for him. But at the same time, it’s next man up … Chris never loses his voice. And so, being on the bench, being able to talk to us, that’s one of his biggest attributes. And that’s something that we won’t lose. He’ll still be invested in the game and I feel for him.”
I’m sure you heard the crowd cheering for Moses when he got in the game. Just what did you think of that moment and how much do you think that meant to him?
“It’s great for Moses. Every time he comes out there, he plays as hard as he can. But, just him getting in, bringing energy for our team when we needed it. I mean, it was great and hopefully we’ll see more of it.”
I’m sorry if you’re asked this before, but you work with CP a lot, obviously. What challenges are present now with him out, because you guys have relied on him so much to kind of spark and lead that second unit?
“Yeah. yeah. With CP, he’s just such a big part of our team. But at the end of the day, it’s always next man up mentality. And then what I was saying to them is his voice will still be there. He’s one of the vocal leaders on our team, so that’s something that we’ll still rely on heavily as he goes through his rehab process.
——–
What do you think? made you guys able to kind of close it out late tonight? Stephen Curry. How about Klay’s defense?
BRANDIN PODZIEMSKI: “Yeah, I think, defensively, when we need stops under that two-minute mark, we got it. But offensively, Steph did his thing and we won.”
Chris fractured his left hand. Steve says he’s going to rely more on you and Cory, Moses. I guess just you were in the starting lineup before you guys have been shorthanded before, but this kind of just adds on to the list of missing guys. What do you think the team needs from you and the other guards?
“Yeah, I think everybody’s gotta step up a little bit. Gary and Chris are obviously out. Like you said, I was in the starting lineup, so kind of know how to play with those guys that are going to be in there. If I start, Cory starts or whoever he decides to start, I feel comfortable and maybe I just need to be a little bit more, maybe, assertive and aggressive and finding my teammates, but also finding areas for me to score. But it’s going to take a collective effort, just like it did tonight. And Cory and Moses gave us a great lift in the third and fourth quarter, and I think it’s really what kept us with the lead during that stretch.”
How much different is it playing point guard or off the ball, whether or not you start or maybe you play more point when Steph sits? How does that sort of change the dynamic for you, which spot you play?
“It doesn’t. I’m a pretty simple guy. If I’m open I’ll shoot it. If I’m not, I pass it. I don’t really try to look at the lineup and say, ‘Oh, well, this group, I need to be this or this group, I need to be that.’ I’m a basketball player. I just try to make the right play every time I have the ball or I don’t have it.”
Brandin, I’m sure you heard the crowd chanting for Moses tonight. How much do you think that meant to him? And what do you think of the way he played tonight?
“I think it meant a lot to all of us. These past couple games that he hasn’t played, he’s been a professional about it. He’s continued to put in the work behind the scenes. For one, his opportunity was called, and tonight was that night. Although he didn’t make a shot, his impact, both defensively and offensively was felt, and it was something that I felt like we needed. I felt like our team was still kind of feeling that loss from last night, and him and Cory, who didn’t play in the game last night, gave us a great energy boost off the bench.”
You kind of mentioned it, like the last 24 hours, like absorbing that loss and kind of getting this win.
“Yeah, it stinks. I think we’ll even feel it even tomorrow during our off-day that we should have got that one last night. But, everybody woke up this morning and we all got a chance to play basketball, which we all love to do. And why not go out there and try to win? Dropping two in a row – Pistons are 3-31 – that would look pretty bad for us, but we felt it. We’re going to continue to feel it and just try to bounce back and keep the winning streak going.”

4m35 Q2 Steph 3 FTs vs Cade — I wouldn’t be alarmed by the slow pace, I think this is who we are, we execute well like this, we will grind out tough wins, but we just don’t have the elite defense to increase pace all that much
4m05 Q2 JK iso’ed vs Burks good
2m49 Q2 Steph 3 via organized chaos, extra passes, doesn’t happen as much anymore, 9-point lead… Bloomer: have you also noticed that the young pistons don’t complain or rarely get upset when they get a foul ?! That’s impressive and I respect them for that — probably a reflection of Monty Williams, funny because DET owner Tom Gores said there would be changes but he’s Monty so much, that’s not gonna be one of them
2m06 Q2 amazing Steph to TJD alley off the glass
1m36 Q2 Steph dribbles off his own foot — 5x vets have done bad things tonight: Steph 2x, Wiggs 2x, Klay 3sec call
1m13 Q2 Wiggs misses another layup
0m42 Q2 Steph heat check why? Bojan hits a 3 in trans
0m20 Q2 TJD roll dunk again via Klay
1:02:30 on if I think JK will play in Q4: @IHaveNoEnemies (BloomerVibes) Steve said pregame that he looked at the boxscore and saw that JK only had 18 mins and said that he needs to find JK more mins
1:08:30 I think you guys don’t give GMs enough credit. Just because Wiggs plays bad for us doesn’t mean 29 other GMs can’t picture Wiggs playing well for their team. I do think Wiggs has value esp on that discounted contract
1:09:45 on Spurs vs Bucks highlights, every team in the NBA is good
1:11:00 @IHaveNoEnemies (BloomerVibes) on Moody — It’s just hard to make everyone happy when you’re more than 8 deep (7 for men’s rec league and I mean all the guys are solid), and the other thing that people don’t understand is that it’s BP that took Mo’s backup, BP’s playmaking outweighs Moody’s hustle and shooting, this gets right back to certain Warriors fans being spoiled in terms of “you can’t have it all” because when we had KD we were given it all handed to to us on a silver platter and we should THANK Kevin for that because that doesn’t happen much
11m45 Q3 Klay and Loon soft D to start
11m25 Q3 Klay erases the stuff that irritates coaches like me with a 3
11m08 Q3 Monty good call, double screen on Klay, Cade down the lane
10m53 Q3 JK bad screen, Kerr can’t believe it
9m55 Q3 Steph GOAT steal and euro finish 94 feet
9m16 Q3 JK too late seeing Klay cut
8m47 Q3 Loon misses JK cut but Klay fade at shotclock
8m00 Q3 Steph crossover 3 why?
7m30 Q3 Steph 3 great passing but nearly shotclock violation!
6m58 Q3 JK unselfish swing swing to CP for 3 (Klay assist)
1:27:30 I ASK WHO JK IS PLAYING LIKE: like, who else would’ve passed up a layup vs Bojan?
6m20 Q3 Klay defers again wow
5m37 Q3 CP3 hurt his hand, comes out
5m10 Q3 JK screen hold by Cade no call, Wiggs oreb to BP 3
4m40 Q3 Saric steps on sideline, we should have a $1k fine for that
1:32:15 @Quest for 6 if you want Moody then you gotta bench BP (ofc, CP3 is now hurt so you never know)
3m00 Q3 Steph miracle and-1 push shot vs Ausar (1/9 on threes wow)
1:35:00 I tell the audience my answer: JK reminds me of Andre Iguodala tonight
1:36:15 DVDV: So glad Nuggets lost on a Murray turnover. See? They’re ALSO not perfect!
1:38:00 2m28 Q3 on JK looking pissed on bench: Well, if you’re pissed you didn’t play and it was only 24 hours ago…
2m28 Q3 CoJo in for CP’s spot
2m00 Q3 TJD and1 vs zone (Steph and Klay on bench)
1m23 Q3 BP wills in a 3 to answer Knox 3
0m47 Q3 CoJo late on the cut, our ball BLOB
0m37 Q3 we always shoot airballs at shotclock buzzer (Dario this time)
0m17 Q3 Burks 3 on the kick, BP says my bad
0m08 Q3 Wiggs 3 finally
1:44:00 on Moody not playing with CP hurt: Um, guys, you don’t put Moody in the rotation as 1 for CP, Mike Brown’s rotation spreadsheets are to my knowledge still being utilized by GSW
11m40 Q4 Klay 3 via BP oreb
11m20 Q4 JK ghost foul swipe on a post up? What is that? Your requisite bad call
10m40 Q4 CoJo 3 should shut up most casuals
10m07 Q4 Klay underestimates James block by a tad on scoop
9m55 Q4 Mo checks in for BP, a 2 for a 2, then crowds Cade to avoid P&R but ends up not working, credit Cade
8m40 Q4 Cade fade J so like Booker or Murray
8m25 Q4 Dario unsung hero oreb fouled
8m20 Q4 CoJo to Klay 3 (Mo can’t do that)
8m00 Q4 CoJo good close on Killian
7m50 Q4 Klay heat check no good corner left
7m17 Q4 Dario 3 with 9 on clock, 3 pt lead becomes 11 just like that
6m30 Q4 Steph back in, should end up with 31-32 mins, CoJo good job
2:01:15 on LAL MEM tied up: Lakers going thru turmoil in locker room
5m30 Q4 JK in, has already 30 mins played
4m50 Q4 we leave Cade open 3 top bad trans D
4m32 Q4 JK loses the ball yikes, later Steve argues on behalf
4m25 Q4 Cade amazing spin bucket, perhaps smoother than DBook
2:03:00 @Zamby on deep roster getting guys outta rhythm: I sorta disagree in terms of like NBA players are supposed to be ready if they’re in the top 8-9, but when rotations are not set then yeah
4m03 Q4 Klay tough shot base (unselfish all game), BP had checked in for Mo reb
3m41 Q4 push shot by BP — from what I saw last night, BP absolutely has to finish games over CP3 if need be, not that CP won’t be HOF or BP will be HOF
3m28 Q4 Steph great help on BP switch to Duren
3m17 Q4 NBC refuses to show TJD foul replay vs Cade as Cade limps around
3m01 Q4 BP called off Steph initially then finds him in the corner
2m40 Q4 TJD mad at alley but good play by Bojan/Monty
2m26 Q4 replay review messes up yet again, Cade hand on back, Steph with the weird non-angry reaction: Dray needs anger decrease management. Steph needs anger increase management haha — Dean
2:14:30 if we lose this game, guaranteed trade right? We didn’t necessarily do anything wrong tonight
1m22 Q4 BP aggressive D vs Cade leads to tov
1m09 Q4 Steph stepback 3 with JK involved per my request on the website https://www.letsgowarriors.com/p/kuminga-played-best-on-xmas-podziemski-warriors?utm_source=%2Fsearch%2Fxmas&utm_medium=reader2 …speaking of which I think there are some assistant coaches that are to blame too for not playing JK (but I wouldn’t know, will never know probably, that’s just my guess), because my take is game film-driven
1m00 Q4 Klay blocks Bojan
0m50 Q4 Steph stepback via TJD, the formula
0m20 Q4 Steph bad tov omg — Where are my, “Steph, that’s inexcusable!” on Xitter?
0m07 Q4 TJD goaltend on Cade, review, with 2.1 beware: if there’s a team that can turn the mathematically impossible into reality, it’s the 2023-24 GSW, I have no confidence in refs anymore, will they give DET a point?
2:29:15 to the person asking if we’re still contenders with Dray: we’ll see because P stands for predictions in CRAP
2:29:45 hate to break to DubNation but yes we are actually this bad without Draymond, once you round out schedule, maybe this squad without Dray ends up, what 6-7 games over .500 or maybe like last year 4 games over .500 but without pet plays for JK, we are this boring, and also our defense is okay and that’s part of the equation too as it would be with DPOY in there — don’t forget GP2
2:34:00 Daxesh G: NBA team 31st Adams’ ref boys
2:36:45 Bruce: “this dude Curry is sometimes Westbrook with a jumper” — be proud that I’ve created the only place on the Internet where you can say that without getting mobbed
2:40:45 @IVN it should be interesting what happens at the trade deadline. BP has taken Mo’s and that’s ok. And therefore it’s ok if Mo gets traded. BP is better than Mo, that doesn’t mean Mo is a bad player.
2:42:00 @Johnson Weaver Smith Those contract are WAY too overpriced. I’d rather not. I’d rather get another wing. I’d rather get old Robert Covington ($15m?) even though Ayton is way higher.
2:43:00 what’s tough about Mo and JK is that their salaries haven’t ballooned and you’d like to extend them and then trade a la Poole to get a star back, but then again it’s really hard to integrate with Steph and Klay. The only types of guys that seem to work are the BP (maybe TJD). Who plays like BP out there that’s a star?
2:47:15 @Daxesh G Good guess on Mikal ($21m) but I’m not sure if BKN would straight swap with Wiggs
2:49:00 Ray Yiu wins the contest: Siakam
2:50:30 CP3 reported as fractured left hand, the worst part is that CP is untradeable
2:53:00 $30M being untradeable right now gotta be the worst news all year
2:55:00 now that we can go back being humans, the look on CP’s face walking down the hall, sucks
2:56:30 I think maybe yeah you consider now BP more of a 1 which then would open up minutes for Mo at the 2
3:00:00 James Warner: CP has an expiring contract so in a way that does make it tradeable, Bruce: trading an injured player is a bad look
3:02:45 KLAY FOYER AUDIO
3:05:45 STEVE POSTGAME AUDIO
3:08:00 Good question, Ron Kroichick! Both Brandin and Cory will play more at the point, probably brings Moses back into the rotation (30 mins from CP)
3:11:00 DARIO POSTGAME AUDIO
3:15:30 ASTROPHEL: Can we take a moment of silence for Kuminga’s dreadlocks
3:17:30 @Robby Bautista I would think Toronto would want more than Wiggs. I would think they would at least ask for JK. And to get Siakam from Toronto w/o giving up JK, seems like impossible. We’re the buyers
3:19:30 @Starman tbh I think Wiggs and JK for Siakam is not only fair, but realistic. BUT I DON’T WANT TO LOSE JK, BUT….??? I’ll study more film of Siakam if the deal goes down. That’s the dilemma for me. But on paper and what I saw in the 2019 Finals, I do believe that’s fair. We’re the buyers so we have to pay more.
3:23:45 @B Ball If we win the ring, then he will re-sign with us, right? And what are we doing here? Trying to win a ring! So if you wanted to go all-in that’s the definition of all-in
3:25:45 @bogus Apps Yeah but would he be lost by mid-April. Should be plenty of time, right? Btw, FO has coveted him per Monte Poole
3:26:30 Johnson Weaver Smith: Can’t keep JK and Siakam either (mins) — gift and curse (Andre voice) of Splash Brothers is that they’re all-time great shooters but they take up a wing spot
3:28:15 Masai known to drive a hard bargain plus they are sellers not buyers who pay a premium
3:30:45 @Bruce Maro I agree that it’s a gamble, BUT… IT’S A GAMBLE!!! That’s what you do when go all-in. I give you this, in the next two weeks it is very possible that JK could play like an All-NBA guy maybe
3:32:45 Bogus: but Wiggs and JK played well together tonight — BUT WHEN DRAY COMES BACK NAH
3:34:30 @Ladarius on not liking the fact a source said JK was unhappy — There is the possibility that the source did it on his or her own without JK’s consent. But…Steve on the podium in pregame seems to suggest that JK wanted it done
3:35:15 Steve said pregame “I’m the most accessible coach in the NBA, my door is always open” and that suggests to me that JK was ok with the source saying what he said (the ten words)
3:38:45 @Johnson Weaver Smith on young guys not working with the Warriors system of guys buying into the vets — Maybe that’s healed already per Steve and last 24 hours. This has been the only blip from JK. But who knows.
3:40:00 @Shivansh says Poole punch leak was an inside job — On the Poole punch, it could’ve been anybody with a cellphone walking by the security camera room.
3:42:15 Kendra Andrews: Kuminga said that he appreciates his conversation with Kerr today. Says they didn’t talk much about minutes, but more so about the importance of communication to get a better understanding of expectations and more trust from both sides.
3:43:15 @Nicole Diaz BUT… they have since cracked down on guest passes, so……. — the stuff that I know sometimes isn’t much but it’s just enough to put 2+2, I am literally the John Michael Wozniak of all Warriors coverage people
3:46:00 @Bruce Maro would Kerr come back? — See, Kerr doesn’t hear any of that from fans and he just shrugs it off, kudos to him. It’s different for me because I deal directly with the fans
3:48:00 TJD POSTGAME AUDIO
4:01:00 @OBBYTURM RSPS Lakers right now blaming Ham — and basically you see almost zero locker room turmoil with Kerr, and if there is, such as JK last night, the flames are put out within 24 hours!!!
4:08:15 Johnson: Kerr makes me scratch my head sometimes but it’s not like prime Phil Jackson is sitting at home without a job. How many coaches are available that have accomplished what he says…. — I actually wrote about that in the Xmas article of JK where I said Kerr style is needed, Tyronn Lue, Erik Spoelstra, Mike Brown.
👍👍💛💙
