A live look at how Golden State fans reacted on Tuesday.

The Golden State Warriors played another thriller on Tuesday night, only this time they came out on top. The Dubs clinched their ticket to the playoffs with a 121-116 win over the Memphis Grizzlies, which gave Golden State the seventh seed and a first-round playoff matchup with the Houston Rockets in a series that begins on Sunday.

So let’s see how the drama unfolded with a look at the live comments from the Golden State of Mind game thread.

First quarter: ‘This is not looking good’

Things started out quite poorly. The Dubs quickly fell behind by nine points, with Memphis looking energized and athletic. But Golden State turned things around in a hurry, and quickly erased the deficit and started to build a lead. They reached double digits in the quarter, before a Grizzlies flurry at the end cut into it. Still, Golden State led 31-25 after one quarter.

EastBayHoops
Ok – I have a simple strategy for tonight – let’s score more points than the other team before the clock runs out.
Please Dubs, bring your A game and win. No more FAFO.

Emmerichk
Damn, this is not looking good

JohnG88
Moody can’t guard Morant

No10oX
Please, Playoff Jimmy, grace us with your presence.

sameba
Moody should go to bench, his contribution is negative.

Antigua Bolt Backer
GP2 is putting on a defensive clinic. But Kerr is a horrible coach for playing him.

ZooMass
Nobody gets white hot confidence like QP.

EastBayHoops
What a crappy end to the quarter.

Second quarter: ‘Fantastic since the fourth minute’

The brilliance continued into the second quarter, and before anyone knew it, the Warriors had stretched the lead to 20 points. They were cruising, but you knew it wouldn’t last against a team as talented and tough as the Grizzlies, in such an important game. Memphis cut into the lead, but the Dubs held a comfy 67-55 advantage at the break.

ZooMass
Edey is unplayable right now. They gotta keep attacking that. Ya love to see it.

No10oX
Get ’em all in foul trouble!

harvmel1
Podz finally got an open look.and nailed it.

edhardyevents
Playoff Jimmy needs to sustain!! If we get this aggressive version plus Steph, we’ll be fine

harvmel1
Santos!!!

ZooMass
ALLLLLL about these Gui Santos minutes

Antigua Bolt Backer
Fantastic since the fourth minute. I am concerned about Bane and Morant getting all the way to the hoop so easily, but our interior help defense is coming up big.

jdubs831
Steph, you are insane.

Kezar Days
Playoff Jimmy has arrived!
So has playoff Chef Curry!

Third quarter: ‘You all know what happens next’

And then the good times disappeared. The Grizzlies cut into the lead, and cut into the lead, and cut into the lead … until suddenly it was gone altogether, and Memphis even held an advantage. It was game on, and Golden State led 94-91 as we went to the final quarter.

Antigua Bolt Backer
Memphis is suddenly up to 49% shooting.

Kezar Days
Keep hitting 2’s. They don’t all have to to be beyond the arc.

sameba
Put GP2 on Bane!

Syphon23
Oh.. we had a 20 point lead…you all know what happens next.

Steph4Three
Losing the rebounding battle again. When is Steve going to realize these ultra small lineups don’t work!!

harvmel1
Mempjh shot like 70% in that quarter. that is tough. those 2 3’s at the end there were killers.

sameba
Since B.Hield and Podz give nothing on O it would make sense to try JK?

Fourth quarter: ‘Tonight’s stress is over’

It was an exceptionally tense fourth quarter, but behind superstar performances from Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler III, the Warriors pulled it off. It was frustrating though, with a pair of very difficult and controversial foul calls. But Golden State emerged with the win.

KLAYtheist
Please win this.
I don’t care how or by how much. Just win.

Steph4Three
Their size is killing us!!!

Antigua Bolt Backer
We are taking awful shots.

Antigua Bolt Backer
Offense has gotten stagnant. Very little movement other than by Curry and Butler.

Hamster Ball
Podz killing us, bench him

ZooMass
THIRTY

dubfreak
Meh! Clean block by podz

IllWill49
Stupid stupid stupid plays in crunch time

KRod24
The NBA is a joke

harvmel1
unreal bad call!!!!!!

KLAYtheist
Tonight’s stress is over.

Antigua Bolt Backer
Nite-freaking-nite.

Post-game: ‘Play-in Jimmy is a real thing’

After the game, fans celebrated in the comment section of the recap, highlighting performances and breaking down the victory … and the upcoming series.

Hamster Ball
Wow, what a game! I thought for sure the Dubs would blow it. But Steph made some clutch shots and Play in Jimmy was awesome. This was an absolutely critical game. Lose and the team is pretty much doomed, even if they win the next play in game. Dubs really need the rest. Steph did not look like himself, he did not have his typicaly handle, hopefully 5 days off will get him fresh again and let his thumb heal. I think the Warriors fans will also enjoy those 5 days off. Too much stress with this game and the Clippers game.

boonitez
Looking forward to the L2M report absolving themselves of any wrongdoing

49ersNeedaOline
who would’ve thought trading for a real 2nd option would help curry and the offense!!! couldn’t believe the majority were okay with sitting pat at the trade deadline and wasting curry’s years lmao. finals run incoming!!!

Cosmo4gsw
You heard it here first: GSW claims a game 1 victory…. on the road.

Dritzz
We need Kuminga against Houston. The bench isn’t contributing enough and we’re badly out-rebounded. Buddy Hield 0 rebound? Come on now. At least help out.

WarriorsWarrior
It’s so obvious now. Warriors would not have made the playoffs without Jimmy Butler.

Mood_Indigo
Play-in Jimmy is a real thing!

coshaben
Playoff jimmy is real

Steve La Porta
jimmy butler is the best (and perhaps the smartest) all-around player in the world. i didn’t even want the trade to happen. boy, was i wrong. watching morant fly around like a crash test dummie, visions of iverson came to mind — he is iverson 2.0.
