A live look at the fan reaction.
The Golden State Warriors treated us to quite a fun showing on Tuesday night, recovering from an ugly Monday loss to secure a dramatic 104-93 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Here’s how the Warriors fans at Golden State of Mind reacted in real time to the action, as seen through select comments in the Tuesday game thread.
Pre-game: “See how they bounce back”
On Monday the Warriors lost to the Nuggets, despite Denver playing without Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray and Christian Braun. And on Tuesday, they were tasked with trying to beat the Bucks while resting Steph Curry. Fans were hopeful that the Dubs could rebound, but the odds were against them.
First quarter: “Moody is that dude!”
The first quarter was defined by exceptional defense. Draymond Green’s defense on Giannis Antetokounmpo and Moses Moody’s defense on Damian Lillard set the tone, and the Warriors were hitting their shots early on, leading 32-27 after the first.
Second quarter: “Good first half”
The Warriors kept playing inspired defense, which was aided by some ice cold shooting from the Bucks. They pushed the lead up to 17 points, before settling into a 58-44 lead at the break.
Third quarter: “Good grief”
In the third quarter, the script was flipped. After shooting 4-for-20 on threes in the first half, the Bucks made a quartet of triples in the first five minutes, while the Warriors committed twice as many turnovers in the quarter as they did in the entire first half. A 17-point lead turned into a six-point deficit, but the Dubs rattled off an 8-0 run in the final minute to take a 78-76 lead into the fourth.
Fourth quarter: “Jimmy Buckets time”
It was a dramatic and exciting fourth quarter, with Jimmy Butler III putting the team on his back. That, plus continued excellent defense from Green and Moody, and some clutch shots from Brandin Podziemski in his return, drive the Warriors to a surprising 11-point victory.
Post-game: “Wiped out the sour taste from last night”
After a shocking detour into the loss column, the Warriors bounced back to win, improving to 15-3 since acquiring Butler … and 15-2 in games he plays. Things are looking good once again.
