The NBA will be including the Warriors former home in All-Star festivities.
San Francisco will not be the only Bay Area city hosting some 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend festivities. The Golden State Warriors former home in Oakland, the Oakland Arena (formerly Oracle Arena) will host the All-Star Celebrity Game, All-Star Practice, and the HBCU Classic, according to a tweet by Dubs superfan Ray Almeda, who claimed to learn the news when purchasing tickets to the game.
I can confirm that the 2025 NBA All Star Celebrity Game, NBA All Star Practice and the HBCU Classic for NBA All Star Weekend will all take place at Oakland Arena, NOT Chase Center. #DubNation #NBAAllStar2025

While all of the signature events of the weekend slate will take place at Chase Center in San Francisco, the move continues the NBA (and Warriors) trend of aiming to keep Oakland included in events surrounding the franchise since the Dubs moved across the Bay. Granted, it would have been more noteworthy if the league had been willing to move one of the more prominent competitions to Oakland.
This is a relatively minor decision, but amidst the context of Oakland sports, it remains a stark contrast to MLB’s willingness to fully abandon Oakland and build an adversarial relationship with the city as they allow Oakland Athletics owner John Fisher to try and move the team elsewhere. The Warriors and the NBA at least seem to care about the optics of making Oakland a part of their story. It still leaves something to be desired, but boy is it better than MLB’s clown show.
