For decades Magic Johnson has been widely considered the greatest point guard of all-time. But with Steph Curry now boasting four NBA titles and one of the highest shooting percentages of all-time, NBA fans are starting to wonder if Curry has surpassed Magic.
But there’s one person who vehemently disagrees with the idea: Magic Johnson.
Appearing on The Zach Gelb Show, Johnson was asked if he thinks either he or Steph is the best point guard ever. But Johnson made it clear that Curry doesn’t have enough accolades to match him for the title.
“If he got more than five championships, more than three Finals MVPs and three league MVPs… No. 1 in assists all-time in the Finals… he’s the best. But last time I checked, he doesn’t,” Johnson said.

Steph Curry probably won’t ever reach that No. 1 assists mark. But the other accolades that Magic Johnson mentioned do seem viable.
Curry is 35 years old and still playing at a high level. If he can get the band together just one more time for a big year, maybe he could get that coveted fifth NBA title.
Will Curry go down in history as the greatest point guard of all-time, or will Magic Johnson maintain that status after Curry retires?
