A big hit.
It’s a star-studded affair at the Chase Center in San Francisco Sunday night, with the 2025 NBA All-Star Game festivities set to get underway. Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry will lace up his sneakers for Shaq’s OGs, but that talent-stacked team just lost one its largest name. A few hours before the games begin, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James revealed that he will not play due to soreness in his ankle and foot.
LeBron James will not play in tonight’s All-Star Game, he says. He will rest, to help his lingering foot and ankle discomfort.

That leaves Curry as the biggest name on Shaq’s OGs, which will face Candace’s Rising Stars in the All-Star semifinals. Curry will face off against his young teammate Trayce Jackson-Davis, as Candace’s Rising Stars was the winning team in Friday night’s Rising Stars tournament, where the winner was awarded a spot in the Sunday tournament.
Curry may be losing his most well-known teammate, but there’s still plenty of talent surrounding him on the team, most notably his former teammate Kevin Durant. Also on the team are Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, and James Harden.
Should Shaq’s OGs best Candace’s Rising Stars, they’ll advance to the championship game and face either Kenny’s Young Stars or Chuck’s Global Stars. All three of the All-Star Games are untimed contests to 40.
