It has been less than a month since the Golden State Warriors landed Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat, but he is already leaving an impact. In six games with Butler, the Warriors have gone 5-1. After it seemed like the team was in real danger of missing the postseason entirely, the Warriors now look like playoff contenders once again. Much of this has to do with Butler’s arrival. In addition to his presence on the court, Butler has taken a liking to the Warriors off the court. Recently, ESPN’s Shams Charania provided a Butler update that may upset the teams he used to be a part of.
According to Charania, Butler considers the Warriors the best organization he’s ever been a part of. Additionally, Charnia noted that Butler’s arrival in Golden State is different than his past arrivals.
“He does feel like this organization is better than any other organization he’s been a part of. But I’m telling you it’s different this time. I haven’t sensed the same feeling he’s had when he went to Philly, when he went to Miami. This is different for Jimmy Butler going to Golden State. He’s staying late for shootarounds. He’s staying late for practices. He’s spending so much time in the training room, the meal room. He’s going above and beyond to ingratiate himself with the Warriors right now.”

The Feeling Is Mutual Between Jimmy Butler and the Golden State Warriors
In his short stint with the Warriors so far, the Marquette alum has already made franchise history. Butler is making an impact in Golden State, and that was made clear by his teammates–particularly Draymond Green.
Recently, Green talked about what Butler brings to Golden State. In doing so, he called him “a missing piece.”
“This team all year has been kind of like, ‘Man, we’re right there, but can’t quite get over the hump.’ But there’s a reason that you feel like you’re right there, but can’t quite get over. And the reason I think we all thought we couldn’t quite get over was because there was a missing piece. That piece isn’t missing anymore. That piece is him,” Green said.
Furthermore, Butler also has a fan in head coach Steve Kerr, who called him “a real deal.”
“Jimmy, he’s a real deal,” Kerr said. “I mean, just a complete basketball player, methodical, under control all the time, plays at his own pace, never turns it over, sees the game and then can get to the line frequently. Great closer, not in the traditional sense where he’s going to be Kevin Durant and make four straight midrange jumpers, but it’s more of a complete game. Get to the line, make the right pass, get somebody else an open look, get a defensive stop, get a rebound. He’s a fantastic player.”
The Last Word
There is a lot of basketball remaining, but the Warriors could make a playoff run with Butler on the roster. They are currently 30-27 and own the No. 9 seed in the West. For the rest of the season, the Warriors remain a team to monitor.
