Kendrick Perkins was a topic of conversation following Team USA’s gold medal win over France this weekend.
Perkins had previously critiqued Team USA men’s basketball several times, especially after USA’s early exhibition losses to Nigeria and Australia. Several player, like Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, didn’t forget what Perkins had to say.
After winning gold this weekend, Green took part in Kevin Durant‘s Instagram live and blasted Perkins.
“Kendrick Perkins, you talk a lot of s—. A lot of s—,” Green said. “Act like you’re American.”
“I had to talk to my sh*t real quick”

It didn’t take Kendrick Perkins very long to fire back.
“Imagine winning a Gold Medal for your country and the first name you UTTER walking to the Locker room is KENDRICK PERKINS,” he said on Twitter. “WOW! I appreciate it fellas and Congrats on winning the Gold! Carry the hell on…”
That’s not all Perkins had to say. Take a look.
If I’m the first name that gets mentioned after a monumental moment like winning gold, I welcome it!!!
I call it like I see it and Team USA heard me loud and clear and responded. Love or hate, I’m here. Get used to it! Congrats to Team USA and carry the hell on 🏅🏅🏅

This is all pretty unnecessary.
What Kendrick Perkins had to say about Team USA a few weeks back was justified. The Americans got off to an ugly start in their exhibition openers. The criticism seemed to spark a fire. Team USA took down Spain, Australia and then France to win the gold medal.
Regardless, it’s not the best look on Perk’s part to fire back at NBA greats like Draymond Green and Kevin Durant. And unless he stops, he’s going to be on the receiving end of such comments for years to come.
