Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State capped off an unbeaten preseason with last Friday’s dominant 132-74 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Although Stephen Curry sat the game out for precautionary reasons due to a sprained finger, Golden State’s ability to shoot from deep continued to shine as they delivered their highest scoring output of the preseason. Head coach Steve Kerr hopes this hot shooting carries into the regular season, as it was a consistent theme throughout their 6-0 preseason run.

What to watch for tonight:
Looking ahead to Wednesday night’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Curry is expected to play as The Athletic’s Anthony Slater reports that no Warriors players appear on the injury report.
Warriors have a blank injury report for their season opener tomorrow night in Portland. Nobody listed. Steph Curry (finger), Brandin Podziemski (broken nose) banged up in preseason, but they’re fully cleared.

While a clean bill of health is a positive sign, it also presents a challenge for Kerr in managing the team’s rotation. Kerr has openly discussed the difficulty of finding playing time for everyone, especially on a deep roster where he prefers to limit the rotation to 10 players.
“Everybody deserves to play, [but] not everybody can.”

It will be interesting to see what the rotation will be for the opener. Portland presents a size mismatch with 7-footers Deandre Ayton and rookie first round pick Donovan Clingan, which may prompt the Warriors to play bigger.
In their fifth preseason game, Golden State featured a larger starting lineup with Curry and Andrew Wiggins in the backcourt, alongside Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green, and Trayce Jackson-Davis in the frontcourt — a lineup they may go back to for the start of this one. The decision on the rotation will be one to watch as Kerr looks to find the optimal lineup combinations for tonight and the season moving forward.
