The Golden State Warriors wrap up their four-game road trip with Wednesday night’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The game is scheduled for 6:30PM PT in Minneapolis and can be watched on ESPN and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State fell below .500 for the first time this season after a crushing 104-101 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Monday night. It was a frustrating result, especially given Toronto’s status as one of the worst teams in the NBA. Adding insult to injury, former Warrior Chris Boucher was the player who sealed Golden State’s fate, scoring 17 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter to complete the upset.

What to watch for tonight:
After losing four of their last five games—including the last two in a row—the Warriors are looking to close out their road trip on a high note with tonight’s matchup against the Timberwolves. However, they’ll have to overcome their inability to score efficiently; during this five-game stretch, they rank 29th in offensive rating.
The Warriors will once again rely heavily on Steph Curry to shoulder the load. Curry has scored 26 or more points in four of his last five outings and will need another stellar performance to keep the team competitive. With their offensive struggles, his ability to create and convert will be crucial against a Minnesota team that is trending upwards having won four out of their last five games.
Fortunately on the defensive side, Golden State should get a boost with the return of Gary Payton II, who is expected to rejoin the rotation and provide much-needed help in containing Minnesota’s perimeter attack.
Gary Payton II is on track to return for the Warriors tomorrow in Minnesota. He’s probable. Missed the last 10 games with a calf strain. Draymond Green and Kyle Anderson are questionable. Brandin Podziemski remains out.
