The Golden State Warriors will look to extend their five-game winning streak Sunday night when they host the Houston Rockets in a showdown between two of the Western Conference’s hottest teams. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on NBA TV and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State is fresh off a 118-104 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night, closing out a grueling seven-game stretch with back-to-back statement wins. Despite falling behind 44-34 after the first quarter, the Warriors clamped down defensively and outscored Denver 84-60 the rest of the way. Stephen Curry once again led the charge, dropping 36 points for his third consecutive game with at least 35 points.
Kerr on Steph scoring 125 points in three games in four nights:
“In three different cities at 37. He looked so fast out there tonight… Just incredible what he does out there considering how much attention he draws defensively.” pic.twitter.com/yeMgwopvgJ

Rookie guard Brandin Podziemski continued his breakout stretch as well. He scored 26 points following his career-high 28-point performance against the Lakers and is now shooting 40.8% from the three-point line since returning from an abdominal injury earlier this year.
Brandin Podziemski since returning from an abdominal injury (29 games):
• 14.9/5.6/3.6
• 53% 2P
• 40.8% 3P (6 attempts per game)
• 76.4% FT (1.9 attempts per game)
• 59.2% TS71% at the rim (84th percentile), 50% in the short midrange (72nd percentile).

What to watch for tonight:
Golden State’s win streak will be tested by a surging Rockets squad that has won eight of its last 10 games and sits second in the Western Conference standings with a 51-27 record. Houston’s athletic young core powers their stout defense that ranks fourth in the NBA in defensive rating (109.6).
However, the Warriors’ defense has been elite in its own right. Anchored by Draymond Green—who’s playing at a Defensive Player of the Year level—and complemented by a savvy veteran in Jimmy Butler, Golden State boasts the league’s second-best defensive rating since the All-Star break (110.0).
The Warriors are 3-1 against the Rockets this season. While overtaking Houston in the standings is unlikely with just five games left, a win would help Golden State keep pace in the playoff race and further solidify their standing as one of the West’s most dangerous contenders.
