The Golden State Warriors get their first opportunity to make the postseason with Tuesday night’s Play-In matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. The game will be played at 7:00 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on TNT.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State missed out on a guaranteed playoff spot after a tough 124-119 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in Sunday’s regular season finale. Despite strong performances from Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler—who combined for 66 points—the Warriors came up just short as the Clippers’ duo of Kawhi Leonard and James Harden poured in 72 points of their own. Los Angeles center Ivica Zubac also played a pivotal role adding 22 points and 17 rebounds to help the Clippers dominate the Warriors on the boards, 42-25.

What to watch for tonight:
Now slotted as the seventh seed in the Western Conference, the Warriors must beat the eighth-seeded Grizzlies to lock in a playoff berth and set up a first-round series against the second-seeded Houston Rockets. The loser of Tuesday’s game will face the winner of the Sacramento Kings-Dallas Mavericks game on Friday in a final Play-In elimination matchup.

The good news for Golden State is that Curry (thumb) and Butler (thigh) are both good to go as the team enters Tuesday night with a clean injury report.
The Warriors have a clear injury report for the play-in game against the Grizzlies tomorrow night. Everyone available. Steph Curry has a sprained right thumb and Jimmy Butler took a Kawhi knee to the thigh, but both will play.

Golden State holds a 3-1 edge in the regular season series against Memphis, including a 134-125 victory earlier this month which featured a 52-point explosion from Curry. However, that win did not come easy as Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant torched Golden State for 36 points, while Jaren Jackson Jr. added 22 points, seven rebounds, one block, and one steal before fouling out.
Adding to that, the Play-In has not been kind to the Warriors, who are 0-3 all-time in the format—including a loss to the Grizzlies back in 2021. A win will put all of that aside and earn the Warriors four days of rest before Sunday’s playoff opener. Lose, and their season will hang in the balance once again.
“We joked about that last week. He (Jimmy) went into the play-in packing for two months, so we would love to have that opportunity. What we can learn is we need to win. We haven’t had a good outcome (in play-in).”
