The Golden State Warriors will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers for their final game of the 2024 calendar year. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State snapped a three-game losing streak by beating the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night, 109-105. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green returned from a one-game absence and immediately made their impacts felt. Curry contributed 22 points and posted a team-high plus-minus of +20, while Green wasn’t far behind with 16 points and a plus-minus of +18.

The standout performance of the night, however, came from Jonathan Kuminga. The young forward tied his career-high with 34 points while playing solid defense and hitting clutch free throws in the closing moments to help secure the win.

What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors will face a tough challenge on Monday night as they welcome back their former assistant coach, Kenny Atkinson, now the head man of the Cavaliers. In his first season as Cleveland’s head coach, Atkinson has guided them to an NBA-best 27-4 record. They also boasts the league’s top offensive rating (121.7), powered by dynamic guard play from their backcourt duo of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland—who are averaging 23.6 and 20.6 points per game, respectively.
The last meeting between these two teams on November 8th was a night to forget for the Warriors. Cleveland dominated from start to finish, leading by 41 points at halftime and cruising to a 136-117 victory. The Cavs’ sharpshooting was on full display, as they drained 20 three-pointers compared to Golden State’s 13.
Cleveland is the best three-point shooting team in the league this season, so slowing down their perimeter attack will be the key to the Warriors’ chances of winning tonight. Expect Golden State to prioritize perimeter defense in an effort to finish 2024 on a high note.
