The Golden State Warriors play their fifth game of the preseason with Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. The game will be played at 7:00 PM PT in Las Vegas and can be watched on NBA TV and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State defeated the Detroit Pistons 111-93 on Sunday, improving to a perfect 4-0 this preseason. Despite the absence of Steph Curry and Draymond Green, the Warriors won behind another strong shooting performance as they hit 18 of their 39 attempts from beyond the three-point line. Buddy Hield led the charge off the bench, knocking down four triples for 12 points in just 14 minutes.

On the defensive side, the Warriors impressed with their young players bringing energy, hustle, and athleticism to that side of the floor.

What to watch for tonight:
Curry and Green are expected to return Tuesday night against the Lakers after sitting out Sunday’s game. Meanwhile, Brandin Podziemski will be sidelined after suffering a broken nose in the third quarter of the Pistons game.

The key storyline for tonight, however, will be the return of Andrew Wiggins. The Warriors’ wing, who has been out since the start of training camp due to an illness, ramped up his practice activities this past week and is expected to make his preseason debut.

It will be intriguing to see how head coach Steve Kerr integrates Wiggins into the rotation. Kerr mentioned that he envisions Wiggins as the team’s primary point-of-attack defender while taking on a more substantial offensive role. Though this could eventually mean a spot in the starting lineup, the team may end up deciding to ease him back before their final preseason “dress rehearsal” game against the Lakers on Friday.
