In an active search to add ammunition to its roster, the Warriors could find help in Kyle Kuzma. After adding the likes of a veteran guard in Dennis Schröder, the Bay Area franchise aspires to make the most of Stephen Curry‘s closing championship window.
Kuzma’s career trajectory hasn’t witnessed the desired growth, especially since arriving in Washington. In his four seasons with the Wizards so far, the former first-round pick has averaged 20.0 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 3.7 APG. Though not the worst numbers, the 29-year-old had All-Star hopes pinned on him.
In his Washington stint so far, Kuzma has a 72-140 losing record, counting for zero playoff appearances. According to reports, both the 6-foot-9 forward and the Wizards are exploring possible trade options. Many believe the Warriors could be a preferred destination.
Former Lakers Champion Could End Up on the Warriors
How the Warriors Could Resurrect Kyle Kuzma’s Career
Originally drafted via the Brooklyn Nets, Kuzma was traded to the Lakers on draft day. Playing for the purple and gold, the rookie showed immense potential. His versatility ranged from scoring, rebounding, playmaking, and rebounding.
Dribbling alongside the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Kuzma tasted ultimate success in the 2019-20 season, winning his first championship with the Lakers. Unfortunately, things took a downturn soon after, leading to him being traded to the Wizards.
Witnessing a visible decline, it’s time Kuzma finds a new home for himself as he continues to be in his prime years. Therefore, Golden State could be an ideal option for the former Lakers champion. Playing alongside the likes of Steph Curry and Draymond Green could help fetch him the longed results.
According to Marc Stein, the Washington Wizards are actively exploring trade options for Kyle Kuzma.

Coach Steve Kerr’s system of playing has been a case study in itself. Sharing the locker room alongside four-time champions Steph and Draymond would help Kuzma develop his game. Golden State’s unselfish system has witnessed players like Andre Iguodala and Andrew Wiggins blossom to their fullest.
Can the Warriors Afford Kyle Kuzma’s Contract?
Currently on a four-year, $90 million deal with the Wizards, Kuzma has the rest of the 2024-25 and the entire 2025-26 season left on his contract. Nonetheless, it remains unclear what Washington seeks in return for their young talent.
On the other hand, the Warriors have cap space for Kuzma, but it remains to be seen what are they ready to offer in return. Names such as Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody, and Gary Payton II are often thrown in the mix, yet Jonathan Kuminga draws maximum attention.
Despite engaging in numerous trade talks over the years, Golden State has consistently kept Kuminga off the table. The Congolese player has shown consistent growth over the years, impressing us with his athleticism and scoring abilities. He currently averages 15.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 2.0 APG on 44.2% shooting from the field.
While rumors of friction with the front office exist, a trade involving the 22-year-old Kuminga seems unlikely. However, Golden State needs to make some tough decisions if they wish to capitalize on Curry’s prime, especially since winning a championship with the currently constructed roster seems doubtful.
