The Golden State Warriors have unveiled their new 2024-25 City Edition jerseys, celebrating the Bay Area’s spirit of innovation with a design inspired by the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge is prominently featured along the side panels of the uniform, adding a signature touch to this year’s design.

The Warriors will debut these jerseys, along with a specially designed court, on November 20th when they play the Atlanta Hawks at the Chase Center.

The Warriors currently have a 108.0 defensive rating, ranked fourth in the league. That improvement into the league’s elite is because of improved perimeter personnel on the ball, better early season performances from Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney and an added emphasis from the coaching staff. But it’s also because Green looks every bit of a legitimate Defensive Player of the Year candidate in the opening month, even if he’s not nearly the athlete and leaper he used to be.

“He’s been unreal,” Stephen Curry said. “Truly motivated. He’s moving well. He’s locked in mentally. He’s being the dog that he is and impacted the game on that end of the floor. Today was no different than I’ve felt all year. All the conversations we had were about how we stay mentally locked in and not let the emotions get the best of us. He’s been all-world defensively.”

“And so I asked him I’m like ‘Bron, what would you do?’ Because on the table, I have from Memphis [a three-year, $105 million contract],” Green shared. “I only signed [a four-year, $100 million deal] with the Warriors. So there’s a big money difference, no state taxes in Tennessee, big money difference.

“And I’m talking to Bron about it and he’s kind of saying it’s hard to pass up the money, but he keeps going back to everything Golden State means to me, everything that I’ve done there. And ultimately, his advice was more so like ‘You’ve just done something so special there, you have a chance to continue there and keep doing it? Why not. You can go to Memphis and do great things and you can possibly be the missing piece to them doing something special, but is it as special as y’all have done? Would that be as special as y’all have done?’

Tuesday’s Mavericks-Warriors NBA Cup group stage game, which marked Mavericks G Klay Thompson’s first game against his former team, averaged 2.14 million viewers on TNT — the network’s most-watched NBA game since Opening Night. Including ESPN, the Warriors have played in the two most-watched games since Opening Night, with their matchup against the Celtics last week also drawing 2.14 million.

The Warriors’ narrow win, which peaked with 2.6 million viewers at the outset, increased 84% from Clippers-Nuggets last year (1.17M). It was the top sportscast of a night that included the college basketball Champions Classic.

But Rivers could smile about it after Antetokounmpo finished with 59 points in the Bucks’ 127-120 overtime victory against the Detroit Pistons. It was the highest total by any NBA player this season and five short of Antetokounmpo’s career high of 64 set last season against the Indiana Pacers.

He launched five 3s in just five and a half first-quarter minutes. Those opened the pump-and-drive game. The pump-and-drive game, in turn, generated even more 3s. Wemby finished the contest with eight made 3s on 16 attempts; it was his third straight game with at least six made deep balls and the most 3-point attempts in a game in his career.

At the 3:04 mark of the third quarter — after Curry did his part on defense by moving his feet laterally against Payton Pritchard and helping force a stop — Steve Kerr got up to inform his players of the half-court set he wanted them to run. Without context, Kerr would look pretty silly to the casual observer with his seemingly random hand signals and rampant yelling in order to make his voice heard.

Kerr’s “silly” hand gestures involved his right hand repeatedly moving forward and backward, followed by a rolling motion using his two hands, while also yelling out his terminology for the set. If you can read lips at a decent enough level, you can deduce what he was trying to say
