These throwback uniforms honor the team’s storied history, drawing inspiration from their days as the Philadelphia Warriors, who claimed their second championship in 1956 nearly 70 years ago.
The design also mirrors the road blue colorway the Warriors donned during their most recent championship season in 2021-22. As Golden State heads into the 2024-25 season, they celebrate the team’s rich championship tradition with these new jerseys, hoping to channel that winning spirit into yet another title run.

Steve Kerr on his summer of gold medals, politics, and huge changes for the Warriors | The San Francisco Standard
“He was amazing, and he and Steph were really the leaders of our team. And combined, it was incredible watching the two of them operate together, because there’s a reason why they are who they are. It’s not just the skill and the athleticism. It’s who they are as people and how hard they work.
“We really felt strongly that Steph, LeBron, KD — this was their team. The team was really built around those guys, and it unfolded right away. It wasn’t like we had to do anything for that to happen. These three guys are alphas and champions, and they carry a lot of weight amongst their peers.”
Why Kerr is excited about Melton’s fit with Warriors | NBC Sports Bay Area
“He’s a two-way player, which I love the ability to connect multiple lineups,” Kerr said. “I think he brings that. He’s a catch-and-shoot guy, so just watching him scrimmage this past week at Chase, our guys are playing pickup ball as they get ready for camp. I watched him knock down four straight threes in a scrimmage. But they were catch-and-shoot. No catch-and-hold. The game keeps going when he’s out there.
“I saw him set a split screen and slip to the rim and get a layup off a pass from Kyle Anderson. We haven’t even worked on that yet but these guys know how we play, have a good feel for the game. So I think both De’Anthony and Kyle are going to be really good fits and I’m excited about them.”
Looney’s latest, greatest evolution as 10th Warriors season nears | NBC Sports Bay Area
“I feel lighter, I feel a lot lighter,” Looney says. “I feel lighter on my feet, I feel like I can move better. I can move the way I want to for longer and I feel like I got a little more stamina. I’ll still be in the post and I got to defend those big bodies, so maintain that strength and improve weaknesses that I wanted.
“I’m at a good balance right now. For me, it’s always been finding that balance where I can be able to be mobile and still be strong enough to hold my own on the block.”

Why the Boston Celtics’ championship honeymoon lasted just 12 days | ESPN
But Grousbeck wasn’t calling to approve the deals or strategize about the ramifications of a $500 million payroll in the future. He was calling to tell Stevens that he would soon announce his intention to sell a controlling interest in the team. That, in other words, someone else would eventually be signing the gigantic checks Stevens was about to authorize.
“He reiterated his support for basketball operations,” Stevens said. “And he said to just keep on doing what we’re doing … and know that this is probably going to be a long process.”
Later, Grousbeck clarified that he would remain as the team’s controlling owner through 2025 and didn’t intend to complete the sale until 2028.
It was unsettling news.

Butler has nothing left to prove, per se. His reputation is ironclad. His capacity to win, overcome odds, and persist is respected by pretty much everyone. But right now, with his value to the Heat (a proud organization nearing an existential crossroads) feeling more incongruous by the day, time is running out on a team-player partnership that overachieved spectacularly while also strangely being followed by a sense of disappointment.

30 reasons for excitement with 30 days to go
A trade, or trades. It seems inevitable that the Warriors will make a trade at some point this year, though it might happen before the season begins. There’s the aforementioned desire to trade for a big-name player. There’s something of a minutes logjam with Wiggins, Kuminga, Anderson, and Gui Santos, and also with Podziemski, Hield, Melton, Moses Moody, and Lindy Waters III. The Dubs might just have too many players deserving of minutes, and try to find a way to turn two or three of them into one better one. And there’s always a good chance of a small salary dump at the deadline.
