Admiring Steph’s attitude, gratitude, greatness on his 37th birthday | NBC Sports Bay Area
One of my favorite qualities about Steph is that he understands his power and then he uses it productively,” Kerr said. “But it’s always done in the spirit of giving. There’s never a thought of ‘How can I make myself look better?’ It’s authentically kind and generous.
“He knows he can make an impact, and he does it out of the goodness of his heart. He’s an amazing human being.”
Jonathan Kuminga impresses in return, gives Warriors ‘different dimension’ in rout of Kings | The Athletic
Kuminga’s minutes restriction limited Kerr’s ability to use him in large doses and specific lineups. He was barely able to preview the foursome that will presumably make up their closing unit on most nights: Curry, Butler, Green and Kuminga. The question will be who slots in as the fifth closer.
“My gut is (Brandin Podziemski) should be with that lineup,” Kerr said. “But maybe I’m thinking about it wrong. I’m thinking about BP’s playmaking. But with Draymond and Jimmy, maybe we have enough playmaking and can put a shooter out there — Moses or Buddy (Hield). That’s definitely a lineup we are thinking about.”

Jimmy Butler is ‘only here to win’ with Golden State Warriors | Andscape
“When I walked in, I was like, ‘Yo, look man, I’m only here to win,’” Butler told Andscape. “’I don’t care about nothing else. I don’t care about points. I don’t care about shots. I don’t care about none of that. I’m only here to win and I’ve always only been places to win. So, whatever y’all need me to do, y’all let me know.’
“‘Show me some grace because I’m new until I get the hang of this thing. But the one thing about everything is my energy is at an all-time high because I’m here and ain’t s— changed. The goal is still remaining the same and that’s winning a championship.’ ”

Kia MVP Ladder: Nikola Jokić surpasses Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for No. 1 spot | NBA
1. Nikola Jokić, Denver Nuggets
Last week’s ranking: No. 2
Season stats: 29 points, 12.9 rebounds, 10.4assists
His case: Jokić remains among the top three in scoring, rebounds, assists and steals, an astonishing pace with just one month left in the regular season. If he finishes that high in those categories, it would be an NBA first.
As Malone said, Jokić is doing things we haven’t seen before. And as Jokić said himself, this is his best season — high stuff from a three-time MVP winner.

In case you missed it at Golden State of Mind:
Steph Curry becomes first player with 4,000 threes
Yet here Curry is, having demolished that number. And while he changed the game and made it a sport for high-volume three-point shooters, he still towers over the next players on the all-time list. Only one other shooter has surpassed Allen: Curry’s draftmate James Harden, who trails Curry by nearly 900 triples. Curry’s longtime teammate Klay Thompson, one of the sport’s all-time great shooters, is more than 1,300 threes behind his former running mate.
